2 year unlimited mileage warranty. If the motor goes kaput, I'd say your covered. My daughter's I phone costs more than a new bullet for these bikes. The weather was crap here yesterday, so I wasted time following up on the Janus culture, rides, and whatever else I could find. Gotta make up for that today. Anyway, the main sticking point for me is, with so many choices, what color combo? Sent them an e mail. Gonna ride up and see one live.

I finally visited yesterday. I dragged my trailer 1200 miles to Goshen and back in case I wanted one of the finished motorcycles they have for sale.

I rode a Halcyon - after placing a deposit. I liked them so much, it was only a matter of colors and options. I chose red with "Redwood" leather and gold stripes.

I'll go back in early July to pick it up.

I would love to buy one of these and ride it the 2000 miles back to North Idaho; do an Iron Butt on it one of those days as well (if possible) lol

Awesome! And post pics and a ride report! I'll join the echo chamber in here: 250 or 450?

    I ordered the 250.

I saw the 450 and like it a lot, but it was bigger. While it looked good, it was getting away from what attracted me to these motorcycles. The 250 and 450 both looked even better than I thought they would from the pictures and videos I've seen. The 250 didn't feel too small sitting on it and it sure is light.

The 450 would definitely be able to handle traffic speeds better, but I plan to ride in town (not city) and on back roads. I did order the second mirror to keep a better eye on my six. When I travel or need highway speeds, I have other motorcycles.

I have to admit that cost was also a factor. If not for the serious increase in price, I might have given the 450 more consideration.

I will write more about the 250 but don't want to hijack the 450 thread. I'll start that thread soon.

    I didn't take a picture of the 450.

Really we need a unified Janus thread here in Road Warriors. Shouldn’t matter 250/450, Halcyon, Phoenix, or Gryffin.

I don't think I could ever order a Janus because I cripple myself with the color and finish choices.

That's one of the main reasons I drove the 600 miles to Goshen to see them. I didn't want to second guess my choices. The "Vintage Red" I chose was a popular choice for the Haycyon, so I could see a couple of combinations with that main color. The "Olive Drab" was my choice for the Gryffin and seeing a couple of them showed me that was my favorite of the ones I saw. Lots of great colors. I could have lived with most of them.

Rather than continuing this hijack, I think I'll start one.

For discussion of the motorcycles made by Janus in Goshen, IN.

I have posted in various threads discussing Janus motorcycles. When I took a discussion of the new 450 off track to talk about ordering a 250, it was suggested that we need a thread to talk about all their models.

    Here is that thread.

I have been considering a Janus for a while. I got on their mailing list and joined their Facebook group. The more I saw and read of them, the more I wanted one.

There are many youtube videos and a few discussions here on Advrider. Last week, they broadcast a live video tour of their factory. That prompted me to contact them and schedule a visit for Thursday. I went. I saw. I bought.

This picture is me with a Halcyon 250 being built for another customer. It is the main color I chose for mine. 20210527_105055.jpg

    My choices include:

    "Vintage Red" primary color
    Gold pinstripe
    Black "Janus" outline
    "Redwood" Wideline seat
    "Redwood" saddlebags
    "Redwood" roll top tool bag
    Brushed stainless exhaust (no fishtail)
    Polished engine fins
    Black handlebars
    Second mirror
    Book rack

Bought from another inmate here just a week ago. After riding it home about 100mi I had to replace the front tire to get the fender back on. Luckily I had a new Shinko 244 in 3.0x18 under the bench. Now I’m waiting for parts from Janus and others to complete some maintenance and updates.

I was tempted by that one posted here, but I thought about it for too long.

I asked about the fit of knobby tires when visiting the factory. I decided to go with the standard rubber.

Nice looking ride. Good luck with it, Awdang.

I got the e-mail today outlining the process and giving me the opportunity to make any changes to my order before signing off. I verified the details and signed it.

Soon, I will receive the serial number and estimated completion window.

Very cool. I’ve been looking at them as well. Not sure about the price tag right now. Maybe in a few years I’ll feel differently?

Great looking rides. Let us know when you get it

My Halcyon #706 is scheduled for completion between June 29 and July 13.

I'm considering purchasing a hitch hauler between now and then to fetch it with. I have a trailer, but the Janus is so light, I think the hitch hauler will be easier.

That vintage red with gold is what I've been thinking about for months. I'd want all your options plus a fishtail. These are beautiful bikes. Why go fast? Go slow and profile a classic. Oh yeah, I want one.
