I did the same route from East to West in mid July. Don't count on Wild Horse for gas. When I was there the marina was under new ownership with no date for reopening. I had to run into Elko and then double back to Tuscarora and points west. And watch for dust filled pot holes between Gerlach and the Hycroft Mine.

Stop and take a soak at Frog Pond. It is about 20 miles east of Gerlach on Jungo road. It has a gate and is the only place with trees. If you camp there the trains zip by with their bright lights, it's really groovy. However, I think they have it shut down during Burning Man so the next week and a half are out.

Ride it like you stole it buddy! LOL Sucks you had to leave but the mountains were definitely the best part of that trip. To me the first half just sucked.

that's why I just wanna go to Austin and then start heading north, hit jarbidge and then west along the top of NV.

I would start just before Austin if you can. Its a nice ride up (although short) into the mountains into Austin. That was an epic night too. We got them to open the bar and went hard all night... Once you get up into Idaho and across the top of NV not much to see there. Back to boring flat stuff.

@Bonnie & Clyde and I did that last October the only water crossing we had was on the South Fork of the Humboldt on the east end of Chimney Reservoir. We came across from Paradise to Mountain City and you are correct, bridge at the IL. We crossed the Bruneau at the Mink Ranch bridge.

We were trying to finish a route we started on the way back from the Super Cross race in SLC the end of April ‘18 when we hit a Blizzard in Montello and had to bail out south. Still didn’t get it done in Oct. woke up in Jarbidge to another snow storm, couldn’t go south out of town so had to ride out to US93 pushing snow on the bikes! This year we are going to finish this friggin ride. Side note: that area is getting shit hammered with rain and snow right now. Took the last couple loads of cows up to Wildhorse yesterday and the weather was far from pleasant....
