I use this bike every day now, it has its virtues, comfortable, reasonable performance, easy plentiful spares availability at low cost, good twin leading shoe front brake (way better than my MZ) good 12v output from the stock alternator, running points ignition which works great, very easy starter 6381.jpg 6384.jpg

For 25 years I have ridden a 640 (same engine as 638). Robust and reliable, it has traveled 170,000 km. and passed through places where other much more powerful machines dare not enterr

Hey Miguel, I was in Uruguay a couple of years ago and never saw a Jawa. In fact, I don't believe I ever saw a motorcycle with an engine larger than about 100cc. Are Jawas sold in Uruguay today? I'd certainly consider touring the southern cone on a Jawa if one were available to me.
