I ordered my 2015 jku. 6 weeks later it showed up. Right around 5.5 % off invoice or 1500 bucks. No automatic or power anything, just the hardtop. Easy sale for the dealer and less than a half hour of my time at the dealer.

So I drove up to Koons today to see what they had - thinking it was Presidents Day, they would not have much traffic. well, the place was pretty busy, but it seemed that except for some with $20K in dealer-installed nonsense, they had fuck-all for Gladiator inventory, and none of the vehicles they did have had manual transmissions.

I may go back tomorrow and see if I can talk with Craig.

Can you PM me Craig's last name? I would hate to walk in there and find out they have three salesmen named Craig! :lol3

EDIT: @mazeppa - Never mind, I found it in the link to the Gladiator site in your earlier post. Thanks!

Make only automatics easily available and then claim no one wants manuals. That was the demise of the Ram manual. Sounds like they are at it again.
A Diesel manual option would have at least got me down for a test drive.
If I want poor fuel economy in a mid size, it’s Toyota for the win.

The manual in the JK is a pile of junk, careful what you wish for.

I saw a couple in the wild over the last week. Funny, my mind says, "oh, there's the new Scrambler", when I saw them.

Can you elaborate on this? I have a JKU with a manual and its been just fine for the 4 years I have now owned it.

Same here - I have manual transmissions in both my TJ (almost 100K miles) and JKU, and they have been great. Now, I do not abuse my transmissions, so that may be part of it, but they have been trouble-free for me.

And so to follow-up on my search, I contacted Craig at Koons, who was great, but he sadly informed me that they stopped taking orders for my preferred color (Punk'n Orange) last week. A case of bad timing.

I asked him to keep me informed, and maybe when the Mojave Gladiator comes out in the spring, they will have that color (and a manual transmission) again.

I also ignored him a while ago for those same reasons.

I've spent my fair share of time in CSM but outside of one promoter of Russian disinformation, never felt the need to ignore anyone. I guess I have less tolerance of trolling outside of CSM.

Friends JK is on it's third transmission and it's noisy in 4th again. Mall crawlers are probably fine.

Keep it up @SKT , I'd rather look at Jeeps here instead of Google. You're doing the work for me!! Ignore the crybabies.

I guess they knew it too which is why it’s not available with the torque/e-er motor. I’m sure it helps their warranty department.

My 6 speed has been fine for 65,000 miles. I think there was an issue on some of them that showed up early on, low miles etc.... I also think there is a super long back-order on replacements for people getting new ones under warrenity.

I figure since I've made it this far I have a good one. Works just fine for me. Don't quote me on this but I think the manual transmissions in the JL series might be a different one than the JK series Jeeps had.

My bosses boss rolled up on a sweet new Rubicon Gladiator today. Turns out it was a available as a rental when he flew in! He was surprised and was having a blast driving it.
I have to say, it is great looking to me. But I want something a bit more refined and quiet for my next truck.

    suuuuure looked good though!
