It's a Jeep thing. I'll NEVER understand.
Karma is such a bitch sometimes. After bagging on Koons, our new to us 4Runner left on a flatbed wrecker for Koons Toyota this morning.
Fucking field mice ate an ECM wiring harness. My State Farm agent says he hates the Koons car side, too. But he hasn't had a complaint about insurance repairs on the shop side.
He got a nice chuckle at my expense when I told him about Koons and this thread. I should have known Crystal Koons is some kind of witch doctor with those eyes.
My wife bought a Rogue from Koons back in 09. Their service plain sucked. My friend bought a Ford Truck from Koons a few months ago. Got all kinds of runaround!
I test drove the regular Gladiator with a manual and a Rubicon with automatic. The Sport or whatever it was was louder because it didn't have a hard top with insulation.
By contrast the Rubicon hard top with the insulation panels was fairly pleasant to drive but it has that Jeep tire or suspension wander where the body just kind of bops all over the place.
I'd sort of like to get one but I just like the overall experience of my ZR2 better. It is quieter, more composed on the street, much faster, and I like the interior better. Plus the shorter wheelbase is better in the rough stuff.
Still not sure why the Gladiator has such a huge wheelbase.
Is the diesel out yet?
As i understand it, the new Ram Dakota will be on the same frame as the Gladiator, which would explain the long wheelbase.
That long wheelbase would come in handy for an extended cab long bed Gladiator.
The upcoming Ram Dakota will be built on the same platform, but without all the off road goodies of the Gladiator. But all the folks that want a single cab pickup might get what they are asking for.
What size tires do you have
It’s not mine, but they are 37s.
I heard this, and it gave me hope for another mid-size truck with a manual transmission.
This article kind of put an end to that:
Poor transmission gear ratios (even with optional 4.10's), and an Aisin trans (I've had 2, and disliked them both), and the 3.6 lacking low end grunt.
I like it do you know the lift size?
