Take away the un-needed 4 door cab & give it an extra foot of bed space. You've got a shorter truck over all with more "usability" for my needs. I only drive a truck so I can haul a motorcycle. My Toyota Tacoma does that just fine but, a 4 wheel drive Jeep truck WOULD be sweeter.
^^^, my sentiments exactly, and it has to go for around 30 in a plain jane. A base model wrangler can be had for 27 so add a bed and 3 grand and you're there. Probably won't happen.
You have to understand most people that buy these things do not want or have a need for a truck....it is a station wagon. It gets the green light from the wife because of the 4 doors....they can put kids and shit in the back. Most off roading will be when hubby drives off the edge of the driveway while pulling the golf clubs out of the back.
^ There is a pent up need, and want, for a reasonably priced regular cab with a real box on the back. People can’t buy them if the manufactures won’t build them. Hyundai has been rumored for a few years now to build just that. We are still waiting for that one too.
Pics aside, that guy is the biggest asshole in Hammertown right now.
Saw these at a local restaurant a couple of years ago. Chrysler headquarters is a few miles away.
True, the "real" pickup truck is pretty dead.....My f150 is a standard cab with an 8' bed. this really does not exist anymore.....the real "work" truck. My kid bought a chevy work truck and it is pretty darn nice.
Actually you can still get a regular cab 8' bed in an F150, and with the XL model you get rubber floors and vinyl seats. 29K MSRP for 2WD, 33K for 4WD.
I don't know how much more "real truck" you can get...
Well, everyone proclaims to also want roll up windows and manual tranny's on their work trucks, along with no A/C and no cruise control, vinyl seats and an AM radio. Hard to find that combo anymore .
Those flip in, triangle side windows. That would make my day.
Ah, the smokers window. I don’t smoke anymore, but I sure miss those!
My dodge had the lock busted out on the wing window when it was pretty much brand new. Parents were on vacation in it right after they bought it. Thieves got the wedding gift toaster and the some cash. Truck has spent the last 35 years with a piece of wood, wad of paper or something shoved under the latch to get it to seal enough that the whistle goes away.
I just saw the new 2019 RAM heavy dutys did away with the manual transmission option.
If more people would have bought them, they'd still be an option
Every Big three truck from "back in the day" has a match book or something similar available on the dash, to wedge under the vent window lock.....It's a true fact.....
I just don't think that front end stands the test of time-- it was only cool once, now it looks affected. I love the rest of it, though; the steel wheels & sparse ornamentation say "utilitarian" to me. I like that.
I agree, but maybe scale it up a bit to fit the overall size of the truck and it would look better.
IDK, I like it just as it is, but I don't think we will have to worry about it, it will never be made!
Everybody HAS to have a 4 Door with all the latest gadgets... hence costing $50K to $60K+++++ ((((
People would have bought them if the manual was available behind the gas motor. Being tied to diesel only I think is why not many were sold.
