Just wondered if anyone has installed one of the H-4 relays on an R1150 BMW. If so, what were your feelings on the kits effectiveness?

I haven't used Jim's kit (I made my own), but if you run higher-wattage bulbs than stock, you need relays to keep that handlebar switch from melting. Jim's kit just makes the job easier.

I've used Jim's stuff. Good stuff. After a couple of emails he sent me what I needed and it worked out great.

I have been using one of their relays for several years along with a 90/100 watt headlight bulb. It works great and is easy to connect. I do not have to worry about all that current draw going through the headlight switch because it is pulling right from the battery via much heavier gauge wiring and a direct connection. Using a relay is the best way to go for a headlight upgrade, and Eastern Beaver makes it easy to do.

(I have no connection with the company -- just a satisfied customer.)
