bob, i just don't want to see anyone paying $600 for a seat in the bleacher.

talking from my experience (the worst scenario), the 640 died after i dropped it (not a crash). jimmy tried to fix it but it was a carb issue and no time to take it apart. glad i have my xr400, which i end up breaking the clutch lever, and good i brought a spare and saved my weekend.

the honda levers are cheap...$11 each.

the way i see it, dropping a bike is not inevitable.

I will make sure that I have tools and spare levers. I am nervous already because I don't know this bike. But I will learn it quick. Risers and bars should be here Tues/wednesday. That will give me some time to do some riding and get used to them.

That was a cool video, but nothing on "Show Time" other than the name at the beginning. He had to be pretty exciting to watch along with Pastrana. I have seen Pfeiffer at 2007 Motorad Days in (hell the name of the town escapes me now) in Germany, and he was amazing. Hell I was there every year for "Gear Up and Ride the Alps" too.

Riddler990, El Zorrillo and I were staying in Pahrump Saturday night and ended up at dinner with Jimmy and Heather. We warned them about you LA guys coming out there next weekend but they didn't seem scared. We talked a lot about the class and it seems that Pahrump is a perfect place to teach it. You guys will get some good sand training, something that I missed out on at the other training spots. Ends up that those pictures of figure eights in the sand on their website are part of the basic class. I would love to be able to do that.

After I am through with that figure 8 you won't be able to tell it was a figure 8. Can you say, low sides, high sides, and all the other carnage. I am glad Jimmie is good at teaching n00bs. He is going to have his hands full with me. :eek1

thanks jeff. we still have to do the haski monument ride.

bob......you don't want to buy jamin's bike....:lol3 he rode that xrl to hell and back.

you did the right thing keep the gs for moderate rides, take the xrl for semi tough adventure rides.

practice what you learn from school, get a coyote bag and you'll be a happy camper,

I am waiting for the risers and new bars to show up. Just put new gears in it. I can't wait to get a new pipe so that I can rejet and open up the airbox.
