Sounds like the same one. That's the beginning of a really great 56 mile loop that takes you all the way to the top of the mountains overlooking the lake. I can't recall the name, but there's a great burger joint up there that serves some ice cold brews:freaky .

I've done that loop a few times with some friends who own a house there in L.I.

Looks like you all had a good time:clap

    This picture lies!
You can't see the steepness and all the rocks and sand - it actually looks like a Jeep trail, but don't be fooled - that was a tough one.

I've done this trail many times and one thing I can assure you of, the "steepness" never changes :lol3

I'm sure it was plenty covered with rocks, but typically the rocks and ruts start at the bottom and don't let up for about 1/2 mile.

Glad you had fun, it's a great trail especially once you're into the Manzanita trees.

    Mikko,
I have the helmet in my truck. Contact Heather and we will get that back to you.

I had a great time with the whole group, it was really good to see such a big change in confidence and also the group learning to stop instead of gas it!

Practice those drills, they really never get old since you can never get good enough at them.

Where are the double-up photos, or are you saving those for ammo?

Jimmy, thanks for collecting the helmet. It would have made a bit too expensive birdhouse. Even in California :D

Just before Jimmy coming through the really bad section of that hill bring with him the last couple bikes I was talking there with (I think it was) Eric expecting another amazing demonstration of riding skill.

"He'll probably put that KTM 950 on the luggage rack of the little Yamaha, then sit the Katoom rider on top of that bike, tell him to relax and then ride the whole mess up the hill, two up, stopping at each tough spot just to show the best way to get moving again" :lol3

Huge thanks to Jimmy and the whole crew!

Remember, Joel is Pilipino. He pronounces F's like P's. When he tells you he was up all night Partying, you must take this into consideration to know what he really means. PYYPP
