Anyone in the DFW area with the F800GS and a "comfort" seat willing to let me take a look? I am trying to figure out which seat to replace my stock seat with. Also, I have a Touratech seat for sale that I hate. It came with my recent purchase. Thanks!

Hello Traxx here, I'm in N Ft Worth and in the process of getting my first bike. So I'm pretty sure I will be the grey bearded guy putting along pissing y'all off.

Hello, all. I'm in Haltom City, and just getting back into the swing of things after 10+ years away. Long story, don't want to get into that here. Looking for a group that I can ride with that likes the dirt and can handle a little bit of crazy, but nothing completely nuts. I've been riding dirt since I was 15, so I'm actually more comfortable on the dirt than I am on the road. I've got a pretty stock DR650 that I am slowly working into something a little more aggressive. Looking for just different people to hang out and ride with, and some places that are different from my usual riding spots. Or, at least, with different riders. Feel free to drop me a line

Are you familiar with the folks at 2-Wheeled Texans?

    http://www.twtex.com/

Always lots of dirty stuff going on there, in the past 2 weeks alone there was a group trip to the mountains of Mexico, the Roll The Bones rally and an Oklahoma dirt weekend.

Cross-posting this from the BBQ thread in case there are some here who might be interested.

I'm taking a little ride to Lexington for Snow's Barbecue this Saturday. Any and all are welcome to join in. I need to check Snow's off the list before Ms Tootsie quits the Barbecue Pitmaster business.

    The details:

When: Saturday, April 1, 8:00 am
Snow's is only open on Saturday, and the sell out pretty quick. They open at 8am, and I was planning on getting there at that time, but further research has led me to realize that getting there by 10ish is pretty safe. But you will still most likely have to wait in line. If that's not your thing (and I totally get that), then this probably isn't the RTE for you.

Where: Meet at QuickTrip, Alvarado. SW corner of I35W and HWY67. I'll be there about 7:30, roll out at 8:00.

I plan on slabbing it to Snow's to get there at a predictable time. I know slab sucks, but when you have a BBQ line that won't wait for you, who really cares? I plan on hitting some FM's for the trip home. There aren't too many curves out that way, but we'll find a few.

I welcome any and all who want to join. I don't ride super fast, but I don't ride slow either. I can give everyone the route beforehand if you want, so you don't feel like you have to keep up, or you can go on ahead if I'm too slow. But really, there's only one Snow's and it's super easy to find.

We'll stop for gas at approximately 120 miles.

Yes, 77 in Waco, then stopping at the Exxon in Cameron for fuel and to pick up a couple more riders, then on to Snow's.

I live between Rhome and Decatur. I ride a 1200gs and usually ride backroads north from Decatur until I have to turn around somewhere in Oklahoma and head back. Any takers?

    calfroper,
Might be bringing my bike from TN as we bring the girls to see their grandparents in Ft Worth. We have a ranch in Perrin, not far from you. On a KTM 500exc but happy to cruise back roads... let me see what the final decision is on flying vs driving

There are infinite miles of smooth gravel county roads, and a couple of offload parks within 40 miles.

Hello, newbie to the site. 51 yr old. I ride an 800 GSA among other things. New to the ADV riding but experienced dirt and street rider. I live about an hour south of Dallas outside Ennis but work in Irving. Looking for other riders to join up with for either weekend trips or longer. Can trailer up to 3 bikes to farther destinations in case that helps someone out. I am an avid camper but don't mind roughing it and staying in a hotel or any combination. Hot showers are good from time to time.

Hi all. New member in Arlington, Tx. Have had a few bikes over the years doing a lot of different riding but have never had a street legal bike I could do ADV rides on until recently when I picked up a Yamaha WR450R.

Anyway....looking for some ADV rides that are mostly off road.

I have a few street bikes as well so interested in those rides too....but I know where the good paved roads are.......I don't know much about good ADV roads yet.

Your in Texas...Land of private land. If you want to go true dual sporting head to Arizona. That's what I did. I grew up in North, TX. Took a trip to Arizona in the mountains. Moved there the first chance I got . Real dual sporting territory out there!

This is very true, relatively little public land in Texas. And the county roads in the urban and suburban areas are mostly paved. Head to the rural counties to find dirt/gravel county roads.

    Hello All!

According to the moderator, this is where I should say hi, and introduce myself. My names Rick, and I am addicted to riding. I have had many bikes over the years to include cruisers, a KLR650, a few Harleys, and currently an Africa Twin. After buying the bike on Black Friday, I have gone a little nuts with the credit card... full cage from Altrider, along with their skid plate, Oxford heated grips, and a set of Tusk panniers. I just got my tires in today, so I'll likely be installing them throughout the week. I'm looking forward to racking up the miles, and find some trails or other off road riding. If there is anyone wanting to go to, or planning a trip to Bridgeport or other OHV parks, let me know, as I'd like to tag along. Additionally, I'd like to do some training too, so if anyone is getting together to practice, please let me know.

I'm still working on my profile, so if there are any stalkers, you wont see much yet.
