    haha!
Nope, not me. I am safely (kindof) here in Atlanta. I did a big trip out west and into Canada this summer on my GS. Got home and then did a trip on my R90. Our school was bumped back two weeks for a mid august start date. We will see how things are developing. (probably the only time i will ever use that word for Venezuela, haha)

Thanks for the updates Josh. Sometimes you just gotta go where everyone tells you not to. We hurtle ourselves forth on explosion-propelled hunks of steel through uncertain roads on a regular basis; risk aversion is a relative thing for motorists. Stay as safe as you can!

    Yo!

Life is ok. I make USD, and have a large support system. The country is beautiful, and the people are cool. The govt and all infrastructure are F'd though. Cash is very difficult to come by, so that is honestly the most difficult part for travelers. My bank allows me to pull out 5000 BsF at a time. The current conversion is 40,000 BsF to 1 USD. I cant even do the math sometimes. Gas Is pretty easy to come by, or randomly not. It costs 6 BsF / L for "93" octane and 1BsF for 91 (what i usually see). Diesel is like .04 BsF/L.

There is plenty of food if you can keep up with the inflation.

Driving across the Colombia / Ve border is impossible at the moment. People have had success crossing from Brazil.

Canadians don't need a Visa, US citizens do.

Wow that's incredible good for you! The fuel price doesn't even make sense that's just insane! How long have you been there now for?

Keep us posted it's quite interesting to hear your story!

Got a little work done on my KLR this weekend. I was dealing with the wrong sized sparkplug, i have no idea how to change a chain, etc etc. Labor is way cheap here in Venezuela, so i paid these two fellas to work on my bike. They showed up at 0930 and worked till 1530. Cleaned carb, cleaned and oiled air filter, replaced oil filter (that the morons at the Ga. bike shop incorrectly sold me. Last weekend i changed my oil and adjusted the balance chain adjustment lever), installed a new plug (that now fits my socket, both of which i brought from Ga.), installed a new chain (brought from Ga) and sprockets (bought here for 6,000,000 BsF). All of this work cost 2,500,000 BsF (or about 13 bucks. I gave them a $4 USD cash tip.) The work seems to be quality, and the bike is running great. This weekend me, my novia, and a couple of buddies are starting on a weeklong trip from Lecheria, Venezuela through Caracas, to Merida, and back
