Today was the first time out with the Max 360 so I'm still learning...

The Max 360 captures a virtual video while I'm riding so no need to point the camera anywhere, it captures everything!

Once you download the raw video into GoPro Player, I can pan to any angle I want; up, down, left, right... sorta like the google map guy.

Cool video Rudy. The view is pretty cool how you can pan front to rear and back.
I found a fun road this afternoon.

    Nice Jim!

I miss getting on the saddle and hitting the dirt. My parents have kept me preoccupied but I managed to slip out today and take the Wee Gee out for some exercise.

~ POD: First ride of the year...

Now back in Florida after spending the holidays in SoCal with Mrs. B8 and the kids. I'm glad my parents had an itch for a road trip and that I could help by chauffeuring them cross-country. Anyway...

I wanted to kick off the new year with a ride. Albeit just a short one to shakedown some gear I had swapped out when I was home.... Gone is the heavy DSLR and I'm bringing two point and shoots as a smaller/lighter option. Also to test some mounting options for the Max 360 on the Duc.

it was a gorgeous day for a ride with the cooler winter weather for Central Florida...

    Typical awesomeness from ya Rudy!!

The technology of the video products are just freakin' amazing to this dinosaur.

I'm giving you major major props on this one Rudy...You using Foreplay/Long Time from Boston is just over the top. One of my top 3 favorite bands(yeah I'm that 70's dude).

Sure look forward to what you'll come up with in '21.

All the best with your folks and your travels in FL, we'll all wait patiently with your photo & video results.

Great to hear from you Sam... glad you enjoyed your time in Borrego with the family...

I'm scouting areas to ride on google, foodie places to try, and planning for Key West next month... but for now I'm knocking out the "son-do-list" and doctor's visits.

Come to find out Key West has some of its own challenges... I had planned to camp on the beach but the campground I stayed at last time is closed due to Covid and they are not accepting anything until March 14th... what's more, Sugarloaf KOA in the Keys in under reconstruction from Hurricane Irma. It won't stop me from going though.

    Sigsbee Campgrounds, Key West...

~ POD: Test the point and shoot cameras with a sunset...

I went to a nearby lake inside my mom's neighborhood to test the Sony P&S when I swapped out the DSLR. Might as well take some practice shots since they're so different from my DSLR. I have greater control with the manual settings on the DSLR and it feels second nature to take a photo. However, I feel like a fish out of water with these P&S and their automated settings. (It should be easier since they are "point and shots" but I can't leave well enough alone and shoot them in the raw.) The other P&S I brought along is a used Olympus TG-6 I bought from eBay while I was home. I wanted it more for its waterproof and underwater shooting capabilities.

~ POD: Zero dark thirty wake up call to catch the sunrise at Safety Harbor and explore Tarpon Springs...

The day started out early and I was out the door by 0430 since I had to ride past Tampa and shoot up along the coast to Tarpon Springs. I wanted to catch the sunrise at locations other than just Kissimmee. The weather called for 41℉ so the heated vest came out. It was a coooooold and dark two hour ride to get to Tampa on the interstate. On the flip side, it was cold weather training for Alaska should the Canadian border open in the next three months... :lol3

The juice was worth the squeeze though...

all to my lonesome since it was so early Sunday morning...

Tarpon Springs has a rich Greek history dating back to the 1800s when divers from Greece immigrated here because of the sponge industry. With so many people from Greece coming to Tarpon Spring, Greek cuisine lined the waterfront for the workers... OPA!!!!

too bad it was so early in the morning, I was in the mood for some steak kabobs and turmeric rice with veggies...

one of the perks of being out so early, no one to photo bomb your pics...
