Had a great morning with a couple of experienced local riders who agreed to drag me along for a ride.... we spent a few hours on logging roads south east of Nelson this morning.... and made it up to 5500 ft before hitting snow.... some great riding! I think its going to be a few weeks before anyone can make it over Grey Creek Pass etc. Obviously a lot depends on what side of any given mountain you are on.... I think we were on a southeast facing road.... but it was pretty shady and snow would be slow to melt.
Saw two black bears , and a bit of a close up look at a deer (too close).

Also, I was surprised how well my Anakees did today...the other guys had knobbies .... although having said that, we didn't see a lot of real mud.

This was looking like a turnaround point until some ATV'ers showed up with their winches....
