Browsing Regional West to find a weekend ride my best option looked like Sito's "Sunday Ride to Pioneer Town" http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=328355
The only problem was I live only 10 miles from Pioneertown, while they were riding from the opposite end of the mountain range to get there.
Only thing to do was get an early start, try to predict their route, find them in the mountains, then turn around and ride back with them.:dunno Great plan.

    On the trail before sun-up.

I was in a hurry to meet up with the crew ASAP but I kept getting sidetracked by Pretty Flowers

    and Nasty Trails

This was at the top of Nasty Trail 3N69.

Some three hours and fifty miles later, we meet in one of last seasons burn areas...so sad.

I turn around and we are five, headed east. I show the guys a shortcut down Jacoby Canyon.

    Whoops!

Five more miles to Pappy & Harriet's Pioneertown Palace for some good grub!

Fifty or more other riders had the same idea.

After lunch the crew asked me to show them a way to a gas station via dirt. Before entering this canyon I told the guys this was the worst sand in the world to ride a motorcycle on. By the time this picture was taken, I think they all agreed.

As SITO signifies with a two-handed salute.

The sandtrap is only a quarter mile or so and then the canyon is Pretty

This is where RAZOR noticed a flat rear tire (tyre for the bad spellers)

The classic neverending battle between BMW & KTM.............................

We still had some ridin' to do

This canyon burned two years ago and is coming back slowly.

We ended up at Rancho del Riceless to mess with Razor's flat.

Then the crew started their return trip to The City

RAZOR with a not really fixed tire.
