Forgive the misspellings and grammar issues!

WOW! its been a long time since I've been on here and this is the first thread I'm reading. I'm only on page 7 and i love it. i have a harley im putting up for sale in hopes of buying an adventure bike and doing the tat one day. This gives me hope as a harley owner. I've had 14 different bikes and have 67,000 miles on my current Dyna wide glide. I might just keep it and outfit it for the tat now, along with some waterproofing lol.

awesome thread, i cant wait to finish reading!

I like how Doug said it, It's like doing brain surgery with an axe. I think I'll just go get a Ulysses Buell and call it a day for my first run of it. Awesome ride Doug!

Great ride report Doug! After running into you at the gas station outside of Ocala the other day I had to look up some of your stuff. Like I said, I had run across this report before but never read it. I will definitely be reading more of your reports. I'm sure there is one on your recent Mexico trip somewhere!

After reading this report I must say you are one determined guy! What did you use to break the bead on those tires? I changed the tire on my old 1988 FLHTC myself a few times and the hardest part was always breaking the bead!

I definitely want to do the TAT someday but like I mentioned I think a T Dub or XT250 might be more to my liking...doing it the way you did is just incredible.

Nice meeting you the other day, hopefully it won't be the last time!

    Ride Safe,

Kith just sent me your RR. I rode it in 2007. I can't imagine you rode the same route I did. BTW one of my email names was RTWdoogle. And my name is Doug.

Wow, talk about karma ( or what ever)
I was thinking about RTW Doug just the other day. I remember reading his trip log and ran in to him at a M/C show several years ago ,
I think it was in Charlotte ,Nc. We had a bit of a chat . He was involved in the ownership of a camp ground in Romania if memory serves.
So for some reason his name came to mind , and low and behold , his name and the trip show up on my daily serving of ADV Rider.
    The legend lives on :clap

    Is RTWDoug still around?

I remember reading his dirt bike Sportster trip across the Eurasian continent about seven years ago, before I was a member here. Fucking legend.

I followed his adventures for several years , ran in to him at a bike show in Charlotte . Had a nice chat, he was presenting and talking about adventuring .
His HD /Side Car run on the TAT is epic.

If for any reason you are dicking around the STL area, you can crash here with a garage.
