Ohh shoot. I assume you have a trailer on the way?
And I am still not home. Went south into SC for bbq. Chilling at the local watering hole.
so, that was yesterday after the Guzzi rally.... lunch in SC. Just because.
"dog is my co-pilot"
and yes, he is tethered, but he hates googles and will rub his head on my arm if they are one (at least he is smart enough to face backwards if it's dusty or rainy)
back to CO
almost had exactly 10k
How was the BBQ?
I've eaten at the cafe in the back of the gas station next door but haven't tried anything from that trailer yet...
slow, but good. Great smokey brisket and pulled pork, fried Okra was delish
just the jalapeno poppers were "meh"
Porter loved his lunch too
Engineer and Cinnamon Pass (back with my usual posse)
tons of avalanche debris everywhere
it's a zoo...
Oh,you said posse.
Schofield Pass and stuff - At this point we reached the time where everybody pretty much did their own thing
loved the solitude... but got tracked down after all
yep, you’re pretty easy to find, even in the Rockies ;-)
I may have my days mixed up a bit...
another 10k pass
ended up going up Cumberland with Alan and @enduro0125 to spread some more of Hunter's ashes
(I wanted to do go to Ophir where @NC Rick spread his ashes before, but that was too far)
I think we picked a good spot. Miss that damn man...
and yes, the little DR does 80+ mph on 9k feet with a 14 front sprocket
cut back on the brownies next time and it will be easier to keep the days straight
Wow that’s a lot of rules
I actually did behave in CO... too much riding
Last day in Gunnison... most folks were gone, Kenny and PJ took a day off
aka "the day I kept getting over my head"
Union Canyon... how hard can it be???
not too bad
I did walk some sections first to make sure I can ride it both ways... I may be an idiot, but I am not stupid
well, I was going downhill... that water-crossing was not bad at all, but it didn't look like it was getting easier and down the hill the crossing would be bigger. Nobody knew were is was.it was afternoon, so I played it save and turned around. But I am going to go back and do it on a lighter bike.
Finished up at Hartman Rocks - for some softer single track fun
till I ended up on the wrong trail.... luckily it's not one way and nobody saw me turning around - again
beautiful pics SC
Last day of riding: Gunnison to Denver
very early and cold morning
Skyline Drive (seems like I've just been there a few month earlier...)
Shelf Road - lots of fun!
Met up with Kenny and PJ to load my bike...
that's the couple of weeks in a nutshell"
besides the cush-drive my only damage on the bike is the blinker... both. In the back. They are gone - no idea where and when
beers with @Outjustout and @SquirrelyGrl (totally newlywed)
last day... Scott offered to pick me up at breakfast and take me to the airport. THANK YOU - beers on me at notta!
my house sitter did a great job - only lost one dog for a day (not his fault at all)
LOVE the Guzzi. I'm sure others might have suggested this but maybe a windshield for the sidecar would help the co-pilot be more comfortable if the goggles are a no go.
Chasing boys through the woods....
It's very easy to make me happy:
empty and dry 209
meeting up with @knybanjo and @PineyMountainRacing
getting dirty and sweaty
cooling off with a beer
I didn't need the "biff" I had on the gravel, but that's all part of it
top of Hurricane Creek - Piney didn't really have the tires for that one, so he hooked up with us on the bottom
two options: move the log in the rut or the bike....
I should stand up to make it look more adventurous
Driving miss Carol - friends new "long-roof"
I did a little trading the other day....
thing I don't use as much for things that are waaaay toooo taaaaall for me -
so one out, one in ....
and I still go the TL and the Montesa, so that should be plenty of trial bikes anyways.
You're out of control!
