beautiful pics SC
Last day of riding: Gunnison to Denver
very early and cold morning
Skyline Drive (seems like I've just been there a few month earlier...)
Shelf Road - lots of fun!
Met up with Kenny and PJ to load my bike...
that's the couple of weeks in a nutshell"
besides the cush-drive my only damage on the bike is the blinker... both. In the back. They are gone - no idea where and when
beers with @Outjustout and @SquirrelyGrl (totally newlywed)
last day... Scott offered to pick me up at breakfast and take me to the airport. THANK YOU - beers on me at notta!
my house sitter did a great job - only lost one dog for a day (not his fault at all)
LOVE the Guzzi. I'm sure others might have suggested this but maybe a windshield for the sidecar would help the co-pilot be more comfortable if the goggles are a no go.
Chasing boys through the woods....
It's very easy to make me happy:
empty and dry 209
meeting up with @knybanjo and @PineyMountainRacing
getting dirty and sweaty
cooling off with a beer
I didn't need the "biff" I had on the gravel, but that's all part of it
top of Hurricane Creek - Piney didn't really have the tires for that one, so he hooked up with us on the bottom
two options: move the log in the rut or the bike....
I should stand up to make it look more adventurous
Driving miss Carol - friends new "long-roof"
I did a little trading the other day....
thing I don't use as much for things that are waaaay toooo taaaaall for me -
so one out, one in ....
and I still go the TL and the Montesa, so that should be plenty of trial bikes anyways.
You're out of control!
trading is not buying.
and the gasgas is hard to sell, so that was an easy way out
I just knew Endure had gotten you to drink the Koolaid, but I was wrong! I had a DR350 one time with Kouba links on it. That was a fun bike, especially after putting a Trakmaster II on the rear. Wish Suzuki had kept the six gears when going to the 400.
Is that what you call it when somebody keeps buying the same model bike over and over again?
That endure is trouble.
I was looking at the AHRMA schedule last night and it looks like there is trials events both Friday afternoon and Saturday morning at Barber this year.
Are you and @kennyanc doing both?
You guys should really try to get here earlier in the week so I can take y'all on a Birmingham beer tour.
The Brittens are out on track on Saturday at noon - I really don't want to miss my chance of seeing that.
But I want to do the trials on Friday - unless it's hot like hell again . @kennyanc ????
Yes, I had one before.... I sold it to buy the XS-hack project, which I traded for the Montesa (with Don)
Now I got the Montesa and the TL, and there is no real point for a 3rd trials bike. So I traded the GasGas for this E (again, with Don - who also sold me my DR).
So technically I got my bike back
(disclaimer: this logic may not be logical )
sooo.... I wanted to take the DRZ out, but the lowering links didn't make it in time
(too be honest: I really didn't feel like working on a bike after barely surviving @kennyanc 75th birthday ... )
@b00t by all accounts showed up and got to play like the time before he got domesticated...
stopped at @_anatic for a little construction update (I hope him and this future wife Joy won't mind me moving in...)
I think they are about to fix the ruts on Hurricane. Fingers crossed they only do the short top section.
less than a mile in on Hurricane Creek - felt a bid "odd" suddenly
First rule of German engineering? Eat
Actually, change the valve and eat while you wait on the pump.
It was not the valve - 100 yards down the road
hmm. Looking at that pic, I am wondering how much real rubber is actually on top of the damn superduperultraheavytube? Yes, it lasted all the way through the CO trip, it's heavy and stiff like hell, but it looks to me like it has foam inside - not rubber.
And someone made fun about my big bags ... well, I had everything I needed.
A few turns later I had plenty of time while laying in the dirt, taking pics and waiting for help to get that damn bike of my foot.
didn't take too long - THANKS!!!!
The rocks were not the issue... wiped out on the flat part
And it turns out, shrimp make an excellent ice pack for "not so happy thumbs" - that little get off gave me a bruise on the inside of my palm
I haven't had a flat for a long long time...
and one for good old times...
around 2010, before Ryan got domesticated (good to get you out and about again)
Great pics, We rode 3 days in the trails around Ouray in July, did Engineer pass and a lot of the same roads as yall rode then headed towards taylor park and did single track. its a different world out there and great riding!
