Some days are better than others, Thanks for a great New Years Day! I can add a few IPhone pics.
Were you in NC and not alert the authorities?
A bit of foil around the ankle bracelet goes a long way! Hate that we missed ya the weather sent me packin.
Last Sunday with @bmwivan - fantastic day for February!!!
rumor is, Hurricane Creek is getting locked gates soon.... and since I put myself out of commission for almost 3 moth riding it last September, I figured it's time for a last hurrah
Gates are already in - original access is "tank trapped"
the top section was slimy... oops (only oops for the day)
one of the many rutted out sections thanks to influx of jeeps over the last few years
the mud pit further down
not to self: don't get stuck in the rut.
Yes, I cheated - I used Ivan's talent (and weight) to get my bike up . Should have ridden up the shoulder on the right like last time instead of following
I assume it was the last time we were able to ride it, I can't say I blame the FS for shutting it down.
Since the jeeps discovered that route it took a beating, way more than we ever did on the bikes.
Rest of the day - Martha Sundquist Forest
And apparently this one is there for at least a month...
And something different the next day: played hooky from work to take advantage of the "heat-wave" with @BUGSMAK
Live is good
even though this is the current condition at my house
Well, that sucks, about Hurricane Creek. It would be ok if they just kept jeeps out.
Yes I saw the Geo off the side before Christmas. Wonder if anyone will ever come back for it?
that would be
I doubt it - license plate is gone and it has bald tires. It's either dumped and/or someone stole it.
Some pics from last Sunday's gals ride...
and this is why I can't have nice things
temps dropped down to 42 and drizzle - that the shortest route home...
^ crappy weather all weekend in Mitchell county. Rain, fog, Wind. Enough already.
Most pics where in Yancey... it was up to 62 on 226A but dropped to 42 and drizzle back in Madison.
Our place is at 3800’. Middle of summer it’s the place to be. Other times, not as much. Maybe we’ll cross paths someday out there. I see Bettina was with you. Know of her, like you, yet to meet her.
some day. My house is on 3000 ft and I love living there - any time of the year (but yes, I had to run the stove Sunday night)
when your favorite beer is on sale and you are planning a little get-together in June...
should have gotten two
Yep. Wanna come down?
Getting a serious headstart on your drinking?
haha, but no. I cut down on beer big time: I had 3 12oz beers the last week, one at the ride with the guys, and two yesterday at the virtual wedge night.
Wine on the other hand....
