Always enjoy going to the Summit Point,, My fisrt time there on course was 5- 82 on 74 TD2b
I ran AAMRR at Summit Point from 1981 - 1985. I won my first Novice race there on a Z1 that was significantly Yoshimura modded, battling with both a BMW R90S and Ducati 900SS. I was so excited after passing the checkered flag, I was enthusiastically waving to the corner worker I knew in T1, and realized I may not have slowed down enough. Ran off into the wet clay rather than crash trying to make it. Didn't crash, at least.
Later, both the BMW and Ducati riders came by wanting to know how I could have beat them at their home track.
Honda RC Piston?
So if it’s doing 22,500 rpm.... does that mean that little bugger was going up and down 375 times per second??

^ When Bates leathers were the pinnacle of racing gear.
Long time back, that was. I looked at these today and realized I wouldn't ride to the gas station in them. Not that I'll ever fit in them again anyway...

Honda. The beginnings.
Yeah. 205. Don’t care. Still one of the coolest IOM pics ever. Wonder where he lit that?
At the speed the '50s went then he probably just used his Zippo to light it at speed.
Just watched the trailer, with added Guinness, going to have to download it...Not quite sure how to do that but I'll give it a go.
Duke video is the company that Geoff Duke set up many years ago, yes, that Geoff Duke.
I downloaded successfully, superb film!!! I stopped at 20 mins to cook at the point Joey is digging peat for the winter. A couple of snipped spoiler pics...
Start of the north west 200, first 750 race and start of the 250... enjoy...
^ Quite a story!
Seeing these old bikes with DOHC reminds me of how naive (aka dumb ;-) I was when I thought Honda's switch from SOHC to DOHC in the late 70s was revolutionary.
