Dragging parts out last weekend to take stock of what I have. This is the first pre-war Indian I've done. It's kind of a different creature.

Jay Leno has been in San Francisco filming for his new show "Jay Leno's Garage" on CNBC. Jay Leno stopped by the SFMC on Tuesday to film a seven minute segment and went on a ride with the club up to Twin Peaks along with 200-300 riders. The production crew asked if someone could lend Jay a bike for the ride, I offered my 1948 Indian Chief. So that was the bike he rode.

No worries, there's nothing personal in there. I stripped the front fender to get it ready for sandblasting. When I pulled the rubber bumper off for the leaf spring I found a patch of the original paint. :D

I went to the Dixon Swap Meet and Motorcycle Show this past Friday and Sunday. Here are some pictures of the Indians I saw there. Over all the swap meet had very little Indian parts yet alone rigid parts, Lots of Harley Davidson Parts. Ziggy had a few leaf spring forks, speedometers, and various accessories. Mike Thomas of Kiwi Indian Motorcycles was there with his retro rigid Indians, Matt Blake of Iron Horse Corral had a number of client gas tanks on display, Mike Cane had a booth of both Indian and Harley Davidson parts. Terry Marsh from Klamath Falls, Oregon was there. And Bill Wentworth had a 1937 Chief Project for sale. I bought a set of 48 cylinders a pair of sleeves, a rebuilt 344 Linkert Carburetor and a stylish Indian Feather kickstand.

I picked up set of 48 cylinders and two sleeves. I don't need the back cylinder but it was a package deal.

Weird, I can't see the pictures. I was there as well on saturday and took some photos as well. Almost bought that little Hodaka with the engine apart. He was asking $200 and dropped it to $150, was very tempting.

Pictures not showing up for me either, even if I "quote" the post then copy/paste the picture address. Shows "server not found" when I paste the address in my browser (Firefox). :dunno

I host my pictures on armory.com (Geek house in Santa Cruz) and it's been a little flaky today. It's working now. Try again.

    Willard Wolfe's 1934 hillclimber - Wolfe's Cycle Sales - 429-435 State Street, Springfield Massachusetts

This 1934 hill climber was a treat. Willard Wolfe was an Indian factory sponsored racer. The original 1934 cylinders have been swapped out for 1940 barrels. And everything that doesn't make it go or stop or keeps you from being killed has been taken off. I took quite a few pictures as the patina was amazing.
