Looks like they dropped the Duke 790 but only as a concept, another 2 year wait. *sigh*. But they said it was ridiculously light, which bodes well for the 790 Adventure.

Probably not, but I like it, probably the best announcement of the show thus far. Obviously there are things that can be done to it, but it's a good move for Kawasaki. I think it is geared more for commuting than for offroading, so I might not be what I'd buy but it is a good step towards a do-it-all bike.

What I really want is a Tiger 530 twin or a KTM 490 Adventure, but bikes like this make it all the more likely. Kawasakis in Mexico are ridiculously expensive. A KLR650 costs over $10,000. More than many cars. Something about the importation or country of origin, they get whacked hard. That will make it a tough pill here, but a big deal elsewhere.

Let's hope it will be priced under 6k but it will cost more than 300r for sure. What is "Adventure" package? Semi-knobby and graphics? Center stand? Plastic cases?

Wonder if old ex250 stand will mount.

Also even with side cases should be capable of highway 90mph?

Glad to see a Japanese mfg FINALLY bucking the 250cc only trend here!

I get that 250cc is a sized used for world markets but sometimes a little extra punch is needed.

"Graphite gray". Those are the only two colors it looks like. It's under 'color and specs' if you follow the link on the previous page..

So details on the Urban-X and Adventure-X?
Are we then looking at the base here so 3 models?

I like this base then build your own from here.
I expect the aftermarket to produce much better bike protection than Kawi anyway.

Also looks like it comes with rack and body case mounts, at rear rack and above exhaust:

I am guessing Adventure-X will have spoked wheels and Urban-X may come with 17" front?

I've got to say we have a winner here folks. As a previous multi Versys owner, I can honestly say they have NAILED the looks. This design far surpasses the recent 650 and the 1000.

Well done Kawi! You will be rewarded.

Totally agree. This is the second bike I've been looking for. Take my money, Kawi!!:clap I'm too impatient to wait for the Yammie T7 and the headlights on the new crf rally ain't doing it for me.

It really is a beauitful bike. Almost like a baby Africa Twin but the face is a little more angular. No one headlight burned out look. No transformer or bug eyes like Yamaha or Triumph. No beaks like BMW or Suzuki. No cyborg cruise ship look like KTM. Just a handsome, classy bike. I'm in love with this bike lol.

The bike is the same on the Urban and Adventure versions. Only difference is the accessories: (MCN)

"Dealers will be offering two accessory editions as well as the standard Versys-X. The ‘Versys-X 300 Urban’ has a tank pad, hand guards, centrestand and a 30 litre topbox, while the ‘Versys-X 300 Adventure’ will get a tank pad, tubular engine guard, centrestand and a pair of 17 litre panniers."

    Thanks for the info.

So the core base is what we see wheels and all. I still say the base is the way to go and mod for your needs, but I get that done peeps like packages.

The urban and adventure are just accessory packages, not different models.

It really does resemble a miniature Africa Twin, especially in the grey.

If they apply this design and features to the 650 and 1000, there will be trouble for the competition.

Kawasaki... out of nowhere comes in for the kill.
