Probably around 34 inch seat height. Set race sag correct and it will squat down a couple inches when you sit on it. I have a 30 inch (or so) inseam and have no problems. I can't flat foot most dirt bikes. The KDX is super light. Slide your butt over if you need to reach the ground better. It's by no means an intimidating bike, as far as the seat height. You can carve an inch of seat foam out if need be, as well. Doubt you will need to. Give it a few hours and you will be used to the seat height. It's a very manageable "tall" bike.

I did the same thing a few years ago. My main bike a well thought out Dr650, I decided that I wanted a true woods bike. I brought home a 1999 KDX200 it was someone's old race bike. RB carb, Pro Circuit Pipe, Mx Tech forks valving with rebound and compression dampening. I put a DS kit on it and has had nothing but fun on it. As a matter of fact I ride the KDX more than the Dr.

Woo Hoo! Just picked up this little gem! '91 KDX200:

Over the years since my first mini-bikes, over 100 motorcycles have come and gone in my garage but this is my very first "pure dirt" bike since those first minibikes ('74 Honda MR50). All else have been street bikes or dual-sports! Although, I expect I'll be "dual-sporting" this one, too, sooner or later.

Can't wait to get out there and play!

Took my 92 out to the dunes yesterday, after a 10 min rip she didn't want to idle. Turning in/out the idle screw, even the mixture screw made no difference.

Had to crack the throttle to keep her going...I just rebuilt the carb and put fresh jets in the carb. I believe they were one size up so thinking of going back to the old jets.

Possible crack in the carb to cylinder rubber?

My version of Team Green. Old faithful '90 KDX200 and a younger member with a similar attitude. That would be a '95 KLX250R.

That sure looks more like a 1990 (see pictures of my '90 in post above this). The '91 had different graphics.

Could be, I wouldn't argue it one way or another.

But, it'll be someone else's worry now. I've already traded it away. For a pristine '07 XR650L that just needs a bit 'o motor work. :D

I have a pretty much complete 96 200 in parts that I am now not building and willing to sell the parts off of. No head or cylinder, pretty chewed. No lower suspension doglink either.
Shoot me a PM if there is anything you need.
Figure I'll put this here for a week and then off to Flea market and cracklist.

I am doing crank bearings soon. Have to figure out how to check run out on my crank.

I no longer see complete cranks from wiseco or hot rods. Or i would probably just buy one.

Anyone know a good crank rebuilder?

    Engine out.

Got all of the openings taped/sealed up. Off to the dishwasher/solvent tank then blast cab. Topend looks like it has been done recently due to the cyl. being cleaner than the rest of the engine.

Looking in exhaust port there are some scratches on piston. Topend comes off to see what is up in there.

Just picked up this 2006 200. Plan to ride some enduros this year. Almost wish it wasn’t so nice!
