Has any one else had the new right hand switch gear replaced to cure the un responsive ready to race key..

Switches for ignition and starter just to clarify, the working inside causes electrical interfearance

The old part number is 61411174000
The new part number is 61411174100

I'd there a TSB or something like that regarding this fix, it is it just a one-off?

Sorry, Technical Service Bulletin. Which is to say, is KTM aware of this problem and providing guidance to dealers on how to fix it. It makes getting dealer support much more straightforward.

I hope so. KTM could supercede a part for any number of reasons. I pick up my SAS from the dealer tonight (first service) and I'll see if they have a clue.

Hoping this can be done per request when I take my bike back in next month for some parts to install. Might ask them about it ahead of time.

Spoke to my dealer about the new switch just now. They have no open TSB or report for my VIN on this. I explained how my key did not work on two occasions in the past and this newer part could help the Race On button to work better. They said, "We can order and installed it for $150, but currently no warranty repair for it as yet".

If during the next 30 days of riding I experience the failure again, I might just pony up and pay for the replacement.

As noted above, a new part number does not necessarily mean a new part - they can change the SKU for a variety of reasons.

When you say your key didn't work, what do you mean? There are a couple of different scenarios:

    1. press Race On button, no lights at all (bad Race On button or battery/wiring issues
    2. press Race On button, small yellow light at lower left blinks once, pauses, then blinks twice (key not found - can often be sorted by putting key near antenna)
    3. press Race On button, yellow light blinks once, pauses, blinks three times (battery low)
    4. press Race On button, yellow light blinks once, pauses, blinks four times (steering lock issue)
    5. press Race On button, yellow light blinks once, pauses, blinks five times (antenna issue)
    6. press Race On button, yellow light blinks once, rest of lights come on and dash lights up - go ride!

I had race on issues a week ago and filmed it. After review of the movie by KTM, they decided to replace the switch. Mine is a 2018 S.

Mine is at the shop now due to my key not being in range while driving and also for not working a few other times while in my packet. I gave the dealer the part numbers and they are going to look into in. Will see what they do, I'll reply to this soon.

Just got my bike back from the dealer, after a few weeks Ktm replied that there is no major differences on the parts so they didn’t change anything, they also said that some Klim jackets and having my phone on a mount on the left side can interfere with the keyfab signal witch I can see a little of that happening I guess.
My bike sometimes displayed the key out of range but it has not done it anymore since I got it back, I haven’t put my cell on the mount, they suggested to move it to the right of the handlebars.
But in conclusion unless Ktm makes a recall or something like that some dealers will not change the parts.

Just tell the dealer you keep being locked out off the bike by a in responsive key...and that you seem to of traced the fault to the switch..

I'm in UK....my local dealer never even quibbled
