Starting my first RR so that friends, family and inmates can follow along. Been waiting for this trip a long time, life just seems to always take priority. Well, tomorrow I finally get my shot at the ever elusive journey.

Departure time from home is around 6 am. Need to make my 8 am appointment on the Port Townsend to Whidbey Island ferry. (Seattle area for those curious)

I'll be taking photos and have a helmet-mounted video camera for future editing. Hope it all works.

The trip will, if weather permits, take me to Deadhorse AK. and then to the Dusk to Dawn event in Dawson City YT. on the 21st. After which a return home. Hope you enjoy it.

    Day 1
Port Orchard WA to Williams Lake BC 460 miles give or take.
Got an early start 0600 to catch the 0800 from Port Townsend to Whidbey Island. That will be the only ferry ride of the trip. I'm not great with a camera especially at 70mph. Didn't plan many stops on the first day wanted to get some mileage done since I'm still fresh. So pictures are limited to on the fly, learned that technique from Tewster, he's to cheap to stop too. Plus I didn't find any pie or ice cream today.

Tomorrow will be fewer miles and no border crossing so a nice easy at speed or less journey. By the way lots of bike traffic today HD's and KTM's.

I just finished posting my Day 1 events and forgot to thank all of you for spending a bit of your time checking in. I'd promise that the post will get better but that would be lie. I just love the ride.

Keep the rubber side down, brother! I wish I could have been on this ride with you, but as you said “Life always seems to take priority.”

Be safe, and I’ll be following your RR.

    Day 2
Williams Lake BC to Smithers BC 378 miles.

What a day!!! Rain all day long resulting in losing a phone and a camera. By the time I pulled over and put my phone away it was too late it died 10 minutes after I pulled it off its mount. Later in the day I reach into my jacket pocket where all the rain seep into the pocket and killed my little Nikon.

No pictures today since the camera is unresponsive. I may be buying a new one in the morning before leaving town. My Sena tube is still working and I was able to film about 30 minutes worth of video.

Tomorrow I travel to dease Lake. Not sure if wifi is available there, may have to delay the next report.

All I can say is keep your electronic very dry or take units that can handle some moisture. The phone was acting up before the rain maybe it was the last straw.

Sorry for the boring entry but it wasn't from my perspective. Bike is running great with routine chain maintenance, a bit dirty but I can live with that.

What day do you plan to hit Fairbanks? We are riding up now and should be there around 6/19. We are moving kinda slowly now and pick up the pace starting on Saturday, 6/15 to bomb up there.
