Its 13 more sleeps till the second leg of my North American Ride .The first ride started in Phoenix , went up to Inuvik, D2D at Dawson City, Deadhorse, Homer, Kennicott Copper Mine, Keno, North and South Canol Roads, Yellowknife, Rockies, Sturgis Bike Week, The great trails around Ouray , Telluride and Moab, The bright lights of Vegas. 4 months, 27,000 miles or 43,000 km. If you missed it http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78644

The next ride starts in Phoenix , ride east to the mountains, north to Nova Scotia, New Foundland, Labrador, Sturgis Bike week , 3 months ????? miles.
These rides are made so much better with the support from my sponsers. Alaska Leather , Barb and Vic the Vice President and the girls and guys at the shop are tops. If your travelling to Alaska call in for Tyres , all bike spare parts, ride gear and make sure you leave with one of Barbs sheepskin Buttpads.

    Big Johnson Motors Tok Alaska
If you travel thru Tok look up C.J. I met C.J. on the side of the road at Inuvik eating chicken, we then ended up riding to Deadhorse with Jazz an Aust hitchhiker, Keno, North and South Canol roads . The night ride from Deadhorse to Coldfoot was special.

My new Sponser is Silkbody. Last ride was uncomfortable in the hot weather with cotton under my cordura . It is so much better than polypropolene.

This ride I will not be using the Box Brownie, got a digi now and a new navigation system to cut down on missed and wrong turns . Enjoy the ride.

No I wont be freezing my but off at the Brass Monkey, last one I went to we woke up to 2 inchs of snow, not a place to have a sports bike at, my mates from Dunedin went home over the Pigroot and seen 15 bikes ars up on ice, the cops were to bizy breath testing everyone leaving the Rally . Watch out for this shifty guy at the Monkey , he goes under the alias of " Scumdog " thinks he has the fasted HOG in the south and drives round Big River Town like hes a traffic cop, has a different chick at each rally as well .

Departure date is getting closer, all tickets and insurances organised except still waiting for documents to arrive for liability ins. from Auckland. They were posted 9 days ago , I best chase that up tomorow. Im having problems getting photos onto smugmug , they have changed what I thought was a good system to something more complicated, I cant get the pics from my computer to the new green smuggy.

My first flight is to Auckland on 27th , L.A. 28th a night with advrider Harry from the Hollywood Hills, Phoenix 29th , plan is to head south to Tombstone, White Sands and east to Mississippi to meet up with advrider Mike. There is a Horisons Unlimited Hub meeting at the IronHorse Lodge Camp ground at Robbinsville N.C. from the 15th to the 18th June . If any of you guys are going to be there it would be greatto meet you. Gotta go Toddy[IMG][IMG][IMG]

Hey,Toddy--Just got back home from business trip and your tire isn't here yet, but I'm sure it'll be along. Looking forward to your visit :freaky and the run to NC. My pad is in total disarray right now with carpet torn out and bathroom under construction, but we'll manage.

    Pack light, pack right.

Kev was sending the tyre on slow courier (cheaper ) will be there in a week, still havnt got the documents from insurance broker, courier service is about as good as the internet down south here, you never know if its going to work. Had a trial pack last night then had the usual throw out to make things lighter, I will get nailed for excess baggage on flight up to Dorkland, If I wear my riding boots and jacket money saved is half box of Coronas. :1drink:1drink:1drink:1drinkToddy

Wear that jacket, boy...any man that can't sweat for a cold Mexican brew ain't thirsty. I'll keep an eye peeled for the tire.

Aahh, the things we endure just to have a little adventure in our lives:deal .

You might need a ten-gallon hat like Hoss Cartwright wore on Bonanza if you stop in Tombstone--want you to blend in and all.:rofl

My 1st flight was 1 hour late leaving Queenstown and made it to Christurch. My luggage was booked thru to Auckland so didnt have to worry about it. I went upstairs for a feed and check out the bar , on my way to gate 3 departure lounge there was one lonley bag going round on a luggage carousel. F--- thats my bag, complete with busted handle and no ID stickers. So I take it over to the lady and tell her to make sure it goes on my plane and tell her its not much fun to arrive somewhere with out your underpants. She must have listened to me as my bag made it to dorkland with me. Im just having a beer with Toddles my daughter who is watching The Long Way Round DVD. I want to show her C J my sponsor from Tok Alaska who is on it. Well must go, tomorrow night Im off to L.A. to catch up with advrider Harry at Hollywood. Cheers Toddy :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap
