They didnt mate. Thats why its called evolution. Fossil records and similar animals that do similar things show that.

Antarctica wasn't always at the south pole. It took millions of years to get there giving creatures plenty of time to get used to the idea.

Do you just mean a digital volt meter so you can see the output while your engine is running?

You could try the usual repco/supercheap etc, or maybe RC hobby/electronics or campervan supply stores.

Or maybe you could try one of these: http://www.trailtech.net/striker.html

    Or one of these: http://evlab.co.nz/shop/products-page/meters/turnigy-watt-meter/

    Or this: http://www.pashnit.com/product/signal_dynamics.html#voltmeter

    Or: http://www.themeterstore.com/dms-20pc-1-dcm-b-c-144-p.asp

    Or: http://www.webbikeworld.com/r4/clearwater-voltage-sentry/

or... you try this "motorcycle volt meter"

This may work. Second item on the page. Single LED. Flashes if over charged, changes from green to orange to red as voltage drops. :deal. I've seen them on Ebay as well. Might even be able to find them in NZud. I'm thinking of getting one, so if you do buy, get two..

i'd prob be in for one too. I'd want to locate it somewhere a bit more discreet tho - may look like a Bangkok niteclub at nite. OTOH an old fashioned analogue woltmeter would be cool too.

Evolution works in mysterious ways. You'd think they would have evolved themselves a pouch or something, like some of those fucked up animals in Australia. :lol3

Anyway, as you were. How about those motorbikes eh....

Your right mate. There are some fucked up animals over here. Some of them big enough to hurt motorcyclists. Thats what happens when evolution on a remote island is left to itself for a while!

p.s. I am actually a kiwi (hence the name).

A penguin is evoluted from a bird that can fly which proves how stupid penguins are. Standing round in antarctic winter storms starving for three months is probarbly one of their brighter moments.

Back to bikes. Thinking of a new bike but can't decide what to get. Must be cheap and versatile.Suggestions?

I got one of these. Or you can DIY from the schematic he provides - only the basic version mind, due to people ripping him off.

Shivering your arse off for 4 months of the year is not unique to penguins, as anyone from Invercargill will attest.:rofl

Didn't see that in on the news, I bet those TV news reporterers helicopters were annoying, or did you sell the story exclusively to Womans Weekly?

Hmmmm, tempting, a wee bike to bash around would solve the problem of having to lug the Orca around the tricky stuff.

If you had gone with your heart you would have got a KLR

Yep. It's become a biannual event. I even got out the degreaser and water blaster. :evil

I was tempted to just buy a new bike to save the hassel, but I'm too broke. :lol3
