I think you have mistakenly parked in the two stroke area of the designated motorcycle parking? :scratch

Ha! Seems as though I did, good eye!
I took some quick dusk photos to show my lights as well. Headlight is a silverstar halogen but is on low beam. 20190901_191729.jpg 20190901_191612.jpg

Geo Washington National Forest, somewhere in Virginia on the MABDR. KLR performed flawlessly. 2500 miles, and if it drank a drop of oil, I didnt notice it.

Took the KLR out to visit its natural habitat.

I was trying to ride with some guys on plated dirt bikes. Over my head and probably beyond the capabilities of the KLR without a great rider (which I’m not). They showed me how to get myself out of a predicament I had gotten myself into. I was heading out and found the route to the road was washed out. A 6 foot deep gully about four feet wide with sheer drops. Nope. Only way out is to climb back out. Dampness on the slick rocks and Shinko 705s is probably not the best combination. I’ve always tried tractoring out in first gear but have always gone down when I lose traction and momentum. One guy suggested 2nd gear, high revs and using the clutch. He said I’ve been over torquing in first gear and losing traction. Anyway, I did as he said, keeping up the momentum and high revs in second gear and using the clutch to stay with him and made my way up a hill that’s always taken me out. Woohoo! But then we got out of that area and heard a hissing noise.

Damn. From hero to zero, just like that. I went from elated to deflated just like my tire. Nah, it was all good. Got a lift to a garage who put in a new tube and got home to take my wife out for chicken and waffles. All good.
