One more since that trip was so fun
I'm constantly impressed with how clean my KLR is. It's an '07 with a little over 4700 miles.
Small spot of rust on the exhaust, but that is it:
Interseats Ltd is the OEM seat maker:
Possibly factory paint marks? No idea where else they could have come from:
My 06 has the same paint marks, never been messed with, bought in 2016 with 3500 miles.
Taken by inmate AZAfricaTwin in the Coconino National Forest, AZ
Nice that looks like the outskirts of Kendrick Park. I wish so bad I could find a damn job and move back.
My '15 has the very same paint marks.
I wonder who's the lucky guy at the KLR factory that gets to tag all those bikes?
whoever it was, he lost his job a couple of years ago
Let's make this happy again!
Or he's writing on the new replacement bikes!
Anyhow, here's a pic
Or he's writing on conveyor belts or some such thing that KGI produces.
Rode on the Empire ranch and recreation area here in southern Arizona. [
Exactly right, Saddle Mountain, just north of Kendrick Park.
Hey guys. I need your experienced brains to help solve my dilemma. I took time out today to install Eagle Mike's KLX jet kit. I followed his instructions and the install, I thought went smoothly. I drilled out the plug on the capped air-fuel mixture screw and found it was completely screwed closed!? I unscrewed it EM's prescribed 2 full turns. After that I installed his petcock replacement (Yamaha version). I notched the solenoid cover to accommodate the fuel line. After it was back together I started it. It started better than (quicker) than it ever did. But it won't rev above 2000 rpm now. I went to move it and it doesn't have enough power to move without dying.
Thoughts before I tear it all apart. I thought I was meticulous with replacing the diaphragm in it's grove. ..sorry this is a 2015 with 4450 miles on it. KLR650, that is.
Just nabbed this fresh ride at a local shop. It's a 2004. Very good mechanical condition, rides like the bad ass it is lol
Now the fun begins! I'm going to clean up/replace/upgrade what I can underneath, and repaint all the fairings and the engine guards. I've got a taller windshield on order, and found a nice used Kappa top box. Hopefully I can find some original replacement decals.
Why paint the fairings? Looks great.
Agree, I wouldn’t paint it or worry about decals. That Gen 1 looks really good.
