I added a heavier weight rear spring and raising links years ago which helped a bit . I also did Real progressive front springs with longer spacer, 10 weight fork oil , higher fluid level and a few psi air added. Which really helps but combination of the new rear shock it's a totally different bike. ! Performance well both inroad and off! Definitely worthwhile.

It's super dry out here, so nothing sticks to the bike, but the tires are dirty!.

I got out for a few hours! it was 103 degrees and I'm pretty sure I completely sweated through my jacket, but what a nice day overall! I got a chance to test out the new luggage with a mock camping load (tools, tubes, cooking gear and a rain jacket). It is absolutely amazing how much quieter and lighter rackless is compared to the old Tusk pannier/Pelican top box setup was.

I also realized this is the first time I've ridden off pavement on actual rough roads with my front Cogent DDC/Spring setup and it was NIGHT AND DAY compared to OEM. Much more control, no pogo-stick, never bottomed out and smooth over everything.

Now after reading @greggski 's post, I may have to cave and buy a Moab for the rear, those guys at Cogent are wizards.

Humphrey's Peak from forest road 418. Sunday the rest of the guys rode to Flagstaff on HWY 180. I decided to ride across to HWY 89 and then home. It very well could have been me, I sometimes ride around the peaks for a quick afternoon riding fix.

It was a concrete batching plant when they were building the dam and penstocks on the Hiwassee river.

What a great mental health ride! 215 miles, perfect weather, got to take the NM-4 to NM-14 loop through the Jemez and Madrid. The clouds were looking promising while on my way back, but do far nothing from them. I only stopped long enough for a couple photos in Madrid, but anyone who has done that route knows how fun it can be for being all pavement.
