Fabulous, gotta get down there some day. My great aunt used to have a place on Pike's Peak, always loved that area.

Bought a ‘98 Gen 1 a few months back. Right after I sold my other two Gen 1s.

It had been sitting for 10-15 years, so there were some issues.

Rebuilt and did some stuff to the carb. Drained and replaced all fluids. Rebuilt the rear master cylinder and caliper…the brake fluid had solidified. Will throw some SS braided lines on next week. Added a 6.6 gallon IMS tank, a Ricochet skid plate and a new set of Tusk DS ADV tires on it…and voila! It runs like a beast.

I have a few little things I need to do, but for now I’ll just enjoy it now and again.

No intended dis, but I’ve been lovin’ seeing so many pics of active gen 1’s.
For me they have that rugged, basic look.

I keep, expecting my ‘88 to fail it’s MOT, roadworthiness test but it refuses to fail, so I keep riding it!
The old Automobile Association badge was my grandfathers and used to adorn his Daimler in the 1930’s

Ah, good eye! I forgot I did add those two items, too.

Having owned 1/2 dozen or so KLRs over the years, I have a bunch of extra farkles laying around.

Got to tool around this weekend on my newly acquired 13' KLR. Compared the my DL650, this thing is just a little tractor on the trails. No working the clutch/throttle, she just goes! 20210906_165551.jpg 20210828_114649.jpg

No worries tho. Protected. Except scratches on my engine casing....and Kawasaki does such a good job of coating 2016 engine casings. Very tough. Just hate to see it scratched.

The guy loves it. Said it beat him up a little when it got rough, but otherwise a great ride.
