I've never been to Kodiak and am thinking about taking the 1290R over for a few days this summer to check the place out. Anyone care to provide an overview of things to do and what the riding on the island is like?

The goal would be to explore all the paved roads (50+miles?) and as much 1290-doable "trails" as possible. Would like to do some camping off the bike and maybe some fishing as well.

    Thoughts?

Search Kodiak on this sub-forum and you’ll see there is some info about riding in Kodiak. Seems to me some inmates had their seats shredded by bears few years back.

thats motorcycle seats, in case anyone was wondering...

The paved roads are quite nice. Good food downtown and a brewery.

The weather on that trip was very favorable. Really a great place to visit. :thumbup
