i Picked up a cheap 500 in an auction but it has a 19 inch rear - so I figure if I am buying a 18 inch rim I may as well put on a Cush drive

Good progress today, Scott’s damper assembly , zeta bar risers and big oily clutch cover( I added 250 mils of engine oil after fitting). Baja LED headlight upgrades to come.
You might want one of those brackets that @DRjoe sells that raise the speedo so that you can see it.
Thanks for that, the Scott’s damper kit includes two spacers that step the instrument assembly forward 15mm which puts it clear of the upper brackets and “in view-ish”
Great day out on twisty single bush tracks and smooth open ripping on station lands today, no other bikes have been there for years., the 530 rider kept absconding on my husky whenever we paused to reflect

So I’ve probably pushed my fuel filter change a bit too long @ 5000km on this one
My fuel pump failed to start the bike after my last ride , couple of taps on the tank locating bolt fired it up to get home , after 2 weeks at work it primed and then failed again
So pulled it all apart and time to install my cycleworks pump I’d been carrying for the last 10000km
Filter was cactus and leaking horrible black fuel
Has anyone used a sintered filter instead of a paper filter in-tank before ?
It would be interesting to cut open the old pump to see how much of the carbon brushes are left.
So is the CA cycleworks better than others? Say a Quantum pump? I was just wondering if it was worth the $$, still says made in china on it... Thanks

Hi fellas, I have just paid for a 2019 500 over here in NZ.
Picking it up from the dealer in Dunedin next week.
Is there any must do farkels that you would recommend.
So far I have ordered an axp skid, carbon pro header sheild, ims tank (4 week wait), bark Buster's and an AliExpress squadron headlight that I plan to fab up a bracket for.
I plan to send my ecu to rex fleiter for a tune up, and I will open up the end cap on the muffler.
Any thoughts appreciated.
Sounds like a solid plan so far, curious about your muffler mod.
I am not sure about the 500 here in oz/NZ, seems the Yanks have to smash out the 2 screens in the end cap.
Is this not the case for our bikes?

I have a 19/ 501 bog stock it runs sweet as a single trail or ADV Bike don't now why you need to mod it ?????
I’ve not changed my exhaust. No one in Oz or my dealer mentioned it. Re map yes. Hey ask Rex Fleiter.
Why a re map ? Stock pulles like a train of the bottom more power than any body needs
Letting the bike breath is reversing the choking the manufacturers perform to pass ADR’s. More air in, more exhaust out andd optimise the fueling is the kindest thing you can do for your bike. A by product is it runs so much better.....as it was designed/intended to do!
