I'm having a go at doing these posts all from my phone and as close to real tone as possible.

Let me know if it sucks...yes or no?

I would love for this guy to teach a photography class. Your pictures are absolutely stunning! I could look at only the pictures and be satisfied.

Paul, I love your reports however you present them.
But—-there is something just so great about following a report in “real” time.
It makes it seem like one is almost tagging along.

So IMHO even if due to poor conditions we get a very short or imageless report, that’s just fine.
    Doesn’t “suck” at all.

Kinda screwed up as was figuring a way from the end of section 7 to 4 corners.

I figured head towards Mexican hat valley of the gods area and camp there.

But as a back up just camp anywhere along the way off the side of the road. The big screw up I forgot to grab a permit in Cameron and really didn't want to screw in the Navajo nation because next month ill be riding A LOT in it.

So as the sun was setting I ended up paying the most for a camp spot ever...but the view in the morning didn't suck

There will be a lot more of these views later

    A quick buzz thru VoG

From here its a quick ride on pavement to 4 corners area and a change of color and surroundings on the COBDR sec. 1

Now that a 12-16 500 exc is proven rock solid for RTW trips I am wondering if the 2017+ 500's are too, or if anyone has tried it on one of these more "condensed" bikes

So you’re running a Montana and the new Trail Tech GPS’s? How’s the new one working out so far?

Better figure out a way to carry extra gas as the biggest tank is a 4 gallon AFAIK...and that sucks for overland travel

I'm liking it and its good to have both. I've been using using it more as a secondary dash and a back up GPS. Though I'm not using the function its great as a buddy tracker and also with the emergency button its great if you're riding 2+ people and not have to eat dust all day but have a way to let riding buddies no you have an issue and stopped for whatever reason

One day you'll have to do a full review of it for us mortals. Not that I know jack shit about the Montana either.

I reached Groundhog lake jumped off the bike and there were 3 other riders there.

One of them instantly recognised me, I always find this strange cause its not like I put my mug in every shot like a lot do

We chatted for a while and they took off north two super tenere and a 650 BMW.

I stayed chatting to the ladies at the store and had a bite to eat for about an hour

I took off not expecting to see them again...wrong.

I caught them they'd had a couple of offs they said!

We rode the remainder of the section together

Ended up hanging and riding a few days with them

After a freezing nights camp. It was a low of 34 just outside Telluride we all headed to Ophir Pass to do the climb up early in the morning
