Cool thanks for the response. I wasn't sure if you needed to mess with the rivets to change anything out.

I tried them both and ended up using the quiet one. I remapped since I was getting some stalling and popping. No problems at all and the bike runs excellent.

I thought you didn't need a remap with the stock air box lid. Are a lot of the wings users finding they need a remap?

can anyone tell me what the internal diameter of either the the quiet or loud insert is for the wings? I only got the one insert when my exhaust arrived and I'm trying to figure which one it is

The large comes pre installed. The small is packaged inside the extension pipe...

Depends on the year of your bike. I know the '14s don't need remap with it.

I can measure when I get home on Wednesday. Odd that you didn't get 2.
Did you get the insert with the spark arrester?

no spark arrester either as my two year old found out when he drop a screw driver down the exhaust into the header pipe while he was "working on dad's bike"

I'm in Australia and where we are noise isn't an issue as there are a lot of other bikes around town that run around with exhausts that are a lot louder, I just don't give it an arm full when in suburbia

Got my wings today!:wings the muffler looks very well made. I can currently not say anything yet about the sound, because I'm waiting for my new 690 Enduro R.. The exhaust was first here. haha
Hope I can install it soon!

Are the stock heat shields made out of aluminum or stainless steel? What kind of paint could you use on them that would take the heat? Powder coat?

I really like that look. I did the same with the silver colored heat shields on the HD XR1200 I sold to buy the 690. The newer XRs came with blacked out exhaust so I had a good idea what it would look like before painting.

Your pics do the same....how about a shot from a little further back so we can see the whole bike and how the black shields blend and flow with the rest of the bike.

Thanks, I think it really "disappears." Compared to the bright stainless.
