does anyone know how wide the bike is at the point where the front fairing pivots? or even the point and the bottom of the front tanks? You know projects need some specs first....hehehe
Got an ex-Pal Anders Ullevalseter 690RR on my hands maybe next week. It's the one he sold in 2008 after the Dakar was cancelled. It's been through some races and I get a shitload of spares including a complete front wheel with it. If not (another buyer has first option) I'll go for an almost non-used 2008 just sitting in a garage somewhere else I know. I'll have to pay some tax, put on some street-legal exhaust end caps and remount turn-signals to get it road-legal, but that's no biggie. Question: Did you and your friend rejet the carburetor after uncorking it and what jets did you use in combination with what "more neighbour-friendly" muffler setup?
Yeah, after it was uncorked we had to use the jet kit provided with the bike to get it to run. When we put in the modified Db-killers (rear closed tube cut off) it was ok but not perfect, so he had it tuned by Frauenschuh Racing. Don't remember the specifics on jetting.
Sounds OK. I'll simply let the Norwegian KTM import garage tune it for me. If I get the almost mint condition 2008 I was told by the owner that he'd enclose both the competition- and street-legal mufflers he had for it. I also expect he encloses the extra jets for tuning, but a standard FCR41 carb should be no biggie for the KTM guys here to set up straight for street performance.
Heading to buy lottery ticket. Must have.<heads to="" convenience="" store="" for="" lottery="" ticket.=""></heads>
Not that I can afford one but, are they even available in the states? I'm assuming its a special order from the factory.
