I am told it is too dangerous to go hunting around dunsink Lane / west finglas there are unofficial contacts going on behind the scenes to try and recover bike
I hope you get the bike back and in one piece, but truthfully youd need your head examined for leaving a bike on the street in any inner city area. On the continent we would at least get it outa sight into a back yard or straight into reception for the night. If you need a bed for a night in inishowen then give me a shout.
I agree. It was incredibly stupid. This didn't happen over night, it happened in broad daylight. I was going to move my bike to a parking garage when I discovered it was gone.
Dont beat yourself up man, it's not "incredibly stupid" to leave a chained bike in broad daylight in a european city. Considering parking costs in dublin...what options did you really have ? Good to hear the reports about the Garda( Irish police for those that dont know) activity. That dunsink area really is a dodgy place...I was pulled over one night on the Benelli by a Garda patrol car and asked WTF was I doing in that area....I was lost He was nice enough to escort me out. I got your reply to the email, the offer is open at any time. Im back home tomorrow from about 3pm on. You have my number. I might try make the meet up tomorrow if I can make it into Dublin in time. Hope your bike gets recovered...what a shit welcome In any case, whatever happens, dont leave on a bum note-there is lots and lots of great things to see and do in Ireland, with or without a bike.Going by the replies on the forums, you could probably travel around the entire country for free at this stage :) Link to Irishbikerforum thread: http://www.irishbikerforum.com/foru...tolen-in-dublin/page__pid__652208#entry652208
14.04 and the air support are overhead. The local statin are on to them asking them to loo0k for the bike. The white cockpit was still on the bike last night so here's hoping - Ref Luke
Awesome!!! Noah, you need your buddy Christine, with her tall boy and hand cannon to flush the fu&kers out!!!
I had heard that Noah's bike was recovered but, I now hear it might not be his, that a number of bikes were recovered. Fingers crossed we have a happy ending and his turn out to be one of them. If I can do anything for ya Noah, let me know.
I got a call about 3 hours ago. there was a rumor that it was recovered but they are just rumors. I don't like to jump to conclusions right now. I have heard that they found other bikes in the area while looking for the KTM. So thats good.
I hope you find it buddy, if you do and it's all okay then you're welcome to come and stay at my gaff in Devon, if you are UK bound.
Yeah the story I got is that 2 x KTM Superdukes were recovered , a lot of helicopter activity in the area , operation continuing today (Sunday) Everybody knows of the Theft in motorcycle community
I am starting to get the itch to travel again. I want to thank all of you for the help and support spreading the word about this moto. Its may be time to face the facts. So if I could ask your help one more time... this is what I am looking for. A used KTM 690/640/400 LC4, xt660 tenere, some sort of other enduro. Preferably between 400 and 700cc. I'm looking for durable, light, with a range. Someone has said this earlier "beggars cant be choosers" but I would like to see whats out there since all the insurance/registration paperwork is such a PITA. If it wasn't, I would buy anything and ride it till it broke and buy another pile. I would like to keep it less then 5k Euros. Any more then that and I will seriously be cutting into my drinking fund for the rest of the trip.
Sorry you haven't got your bike back mate. Hope you get something sorted soon and your adventure continues without any more problems. http://www.ktmforum.co.uk/bikes-bits-sale/126584-ktm-640-adv-sale.html
Noah is now famous here in the Emerald isle. He's been on the radio most of the morning . So far he has had offers of free B&B ... hotel stays... and lastly a free bmw rental and insurance for the duration of his stay here. http://www.rte.ie/radio1/thejohnmurrayshow/ and go to show from 15/8/12.
Paul BHT, the owner of UKGser at short notice set up a fund so that site members could put some cash Noah's way. The result of which was that he met Noah today in England and handed over £700 ($1099 US) to help him on his way. Hopefully it will leave Noah with a slightly better opinion of our country.
Hi Noah That is just fantastic. Listen I know it might be to expensive but I just put my bike out for sale. It is a 990 and it is ready to travel! http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=313161&page=40 Nic
