How could it be legal? It’s your vehicle, your data. Would not a search warrant be required. I would not give permission. How many rights has technology violated now?

Involved in an accident. If injuries or death involved then vehicles taken for inspection.
Insurance companies have assessors to look at the vehicles that are damaged and owner wants to claim on insurance. Assessor looks at what the vehicle tells them. No warrants etc required. The insurers want to know if the version the claimant is telling them is the same as what the vehicle is. If you refuse them to look at it then you won't have much chance of a payout.
No different for warranty claims etc with a dealer.

Ask your insurance company. Most likely in their fine print documents but they are too fine for me to read these days.

i’ve always thought its hard to imagine how you could stop anyone downloading stuff in an investigation after an accident, its not personal data protected by privacy,

could you stop them measuring the skid marks because its your data ?

they’ll tell how far you’ve been leaning on a GS, whats that new Tiger capture ?
