Because there are no signs of any dents and these were big sharp rocks. I did get hung up on the skid plate a couple of times if you feel that would add legitimacy to my post.

The stiffener wouldn't help resist dents unless the rock happened to hit where it bolts to the thin aluminum. There's still a large, unsupported span in the bottom of the OEM plate. The stiffener also does nothing for the front facing, curved section. Glad it works for you.

If you read his post correctly, this is just the best available until a serious skid plate, like from BDCW, comes available. He knows it’s a bandaid.

There’s still a long unsupported span. Granted, it’ll take a much bigger ding than oem, I just don’t know that I trust it fully.

I read the post correctly. Else I wouldn’t have commented.

5mm thick vs 2mm I wonder if it works with my Touratech stiffener? Lol!

    whats the weight difference?
also no manufacturer is making a HDPE version!??
it works great for the 701/690 why not for the 790?

** I know the weight is low but still interested in making the bike lighter not heavier

I added the Perun top rack with a Givi top case. The rack by itself is really versatile. I would recommend it to others.

The @Perun products are things of beauty. Can't go wrong with any of his items.

Just ordered the Sharon exhaust from Rade. They assure that you don't need tuning for their system. We will see.

    Cannot wait, though!

    Absolutely will.

Here's the rig about ready for the trip through CO. Pardon it being on a trailer... I towed it to Southern Utah to start the ride from there. Nobody wants 6 hours of straight interstate each way. Plus, the TDI wagen got 40mpg on the tow with cruise set at 64.

Bag setup is an old Cortech bag with built-in bungees, and an inexpensive semi-soft Nelson-Rigg saddlebag setup with the KTM/Touratech top case. This will carry more than enough for my 4-day trip since we're hoteling.

Looks nice. Interested to see how your performance works out. Can you give a rough estimate on shipping? It's all a great price @ <$500 CDN!

Yes, they have pretty good pics and a short video on the site. I will post more :)

All in, it was $440 USD including shipping. More than I've ever paid for a motorcycle exhaust but a bargain relative to wings/akro/arrow/whatever else I've seen. (my last exhaust I changed was an eBay muffler welded on with an Akro sticker... fooled the tech at the Triumph dealer and sounded amazing)

I heard that deleting the cat screws up the bikes performance below 6.5k rpm
