I would add a secure strap for that tube - and if I did I would still have my tools that I carried on 990.. Adventure/Rally ride is more demanding for brackets and connectors than enduro that continuos dust&sand with wibrating just eats about everything.

Installed the Black Dog Cycle Works skid plate today. Glad I made this choice! Nice solid two piece design that removes the mounts from the oil pan with the back connecting to the foot peg/centerstand brackets. Nice design! Because of the two piece design you can remove just the bottom part for oil changes.

Have to send a shout out to guglatech.
Just cleaned my airfilter after my 1k trip 70% off road.
Where I was following a 701 and eating alot of dust. I took the seat off and holy crap the dust.
Also all around the filter and the filter itself was full of dust but the airbox was squeaky clean.
I used warm water and gentle dish soap
Air dryed using a fan then sprayed with echo foam (water soluble) greased the edges again and ready for the next adventure

Just installed the Black Dog skid plate. Took about an hour, looks bomb proof. Excited to give it a little workout tomorrow! F3C9A1E2-401A-468F-8AF6-B69493C3262F.png

It’s from a local company called Toys2go I don’t think they have the 790 racks on their website yet. I believe mine was only the second set made. Tool tube was from them too.

Is there any aftermarket seat 1" lower? Or could the Ktm seat be shaved about 1"? I have placed a deposit but if the seat height matter is not sorted I won't proceed.

I was referring to the 790 Adventure R default seat...the lower Ktm 790R seat or the two piece seat of the 790 S when installed lowers only 1cm the seat height. I am 5 7 and for sure need an inch for start. I don't want to lower suspension and lose suspension travel...

Shaving seats is actually not hard to do if you have access to a good heavy duty stapler and my favourite tool for the job - a cheap electric turkey carving knife. It cuts the foam so nicely and evenly and then you can stretch your original cover back on once you’ve finished shaping and lowering the foam or get a different cover for it. Just remember to use stainless steel staples so they don’t rust away on you...
