Spent some time developing a new desert loop, which follows a cow trail off of a butte. It was way too windy to hear whatever I was on about, though.

This wash turned out to be a little wetter than I thought.

I've found the 790 to be very capable offroad, way more than the 950 ever was. But, wet clay is wet clay.

I didn`t test it with hard cases,i only use softbags on a KTM-Rack.Its the original higher powerparts Rallyseat .It is OK,but for me, its feel to soft,so i would change for longer roadtrips to a Touratech Seat.

I must have forgotten to let the bike out last night. It couldn't hold it in and pissed some radiator fluid on the floor.

Ah well, I'll add that to my list of things to get squared away. Right now waiting on Amazon to bring me a plastic welding gun, pack of HDPE welding rods, and some .093" thick Kydex sheets. Ive got a plan... lol

Repairing the tank and strengthening it up a little should make an interesting project.

I took the 790 over to Utah, to find the monolith that’s been in the news recently. It’s in Lockhart Basin, and requires a short hike, but it’s pretty cool to see. The 790 is perfect for this kind of a banzai run, eating up both the 4wd and paved roads easily, plus just being a hoot to ride. 8198AFA3-FB82-4E85-8180-8120929E8690.jpeg

    That's very Cool @AdvRonski !

Earlier images from the net showed the surface as being much 'cleaner'... Guess there's been quite a few investigators up there.

Did you give it a tap to gauge if it's hollow? Material? Aluminium / S/S?..

How long before some dimwit hits with a rattle can, marker or screwdriver?...

Hope you will really enjoy it!

I rode the specific one you bought for 30+ minutes on quick gravel roads at Trollhättan beginning of June and was really impressed with the suspension!

It was KTM’s truck traveling around dealerships. They had all KTM models available for test ride. Was a fun afternoon!

It’s stainless sheet, very heavy gauge, 3 sheets riveted together. I couldn’t see the top to see if it was capped, but it is very solidly anchored in the rock. Seems like a lot of work to plant something in a dead-end canyon that far out in the basin.
