Great place to ride these big bikes - Assietta is one of my all time favourite trails/roads - Never done Aravis though so will check that out. I'm back in the area Sept, hopefully stand a better chance of getting to the top of the Sommeiller without the snow.

Are there places in the US with longer than 300miles between gas availability?
Or anywhere else in the world, for that matter? Places that are actually rideable, for the record, not places you need to get dropped into/lifted out of.

Not really. One example I can think of is the Trans Taiga road. Also when riding around in northern Canada it's possible for remote fuel stations to be closed on sundays or at night.

A quick google told me that 160 was the highest stretch somewhere in Utah or Wyoming or something. But that came from a car site, and it wasn’t advdriver.
Of the countries I’ve been to, everything is pretty dense, with the exception of rural Canada. But even then, 300miles or more isn’t something I’ve seen.
I ask solely out of pure naivety.

Yes sure is... started out in Newcastle, through to Glenn Innes, via Gloucester. It was minus 6 that day as we headed off down to Walcha.

    Great 3 day ride
