Took her for a quick spin after work yesterday, still only have 550 kms so far
LOVE those killed cans strapped to the bags
From a trip to Wales a couple of weeks ago. I want to go back.
I just added the GL Coyote and they work ok. The way I fitted them they didn't even touch the pipe and left most of the rear rack available. Not quite as good as they'd fit on my 500 exc, but still plenty of seat room. What I didn't consider, though, was the sand getting in between the bags and the side panels so now I have two nice scuff marks on my brand new 790. :) Can't look new forever.
I don't really worry about crash protection with this bike. I hava an f800 GS that I added all that stuff, and quite frankly it didn't do much and I got tired of the weight. On this bike I'm trying to keep the weight low so you won't see any engine guards or other stuff.
I looked at my pics and none of them really show the fit, but I'll try to get one next time I load them up. The coyote is a little tight for a 2 day trip, but it's doable.
I noticed some guys running their bikes without the side panels when they have soft luggage strapped on. The only thing you would give up is the OE tool storage.
Some protection film will stop that scuffing. My coyote ate away at my finish on my 690 after a few thousand miles. But really, any soft bag will eventually do the same.
Will be doing the protection film this go around. Especially strapping straight to that sexy orange frame.
Plotaverse? Was addicted to that app for awhile. Thanks for the reminder to start messing w it again. Cool pic
A couple picks of my route thru parts of PA and NY on my way to Canada.
@windblown101 I hope you packed warm clothes. Nights up here are already down to 50 degrees. Great photos BTW. Looks like it's a great trip so far.
Some gorilla tape on the frame where the bags touch the frame Makes the bike alot smaller on the rear, to take of the plastic
Thanks! It's actually pixaloop, you sort of draw over your photo where you do and don't want it to move. Still addictive.
Ah, never thought of that. Not sure if it would help now, but if I can recover the shine I'll consider the film or the removal. I have a trip down to Baja in Oct so I should figure it out before then.
I was at a loss as to where I'd find forward tie down points with even the modest Kriega 20L pack I carry on the bike, until I removed the plastics. Once that orange frame is revealed the tie downs become a no brainer. What a lovely option to have available with only a key turn, and a few snaps.
Norway is a cool place.
@tshansen wanna swap .gpx ?
Spent last weekend in the deep forrest of Norway. Had a blast with good friends You never get to old to play around on trails and gravel roads
That looks awesome. I’m gonna get over there and ride someday, my daughter lives in Oslo
I'm kind of digging the way that Mosko setup looks. Review?
I may decide to sell me Giant Loop and upgrade.
How many litres of store do you get?
Time to mount, pack, unpack?
Still heading west. Some pics from Michigans Upper Peninsula.
Camping on on Lake Superiors south shore.
No shortage of sand.
Forest roads, two track, single track, and huge sand pits. I could happily spend a lot more time here but got to keep moving.
