Too good to be true, if however it is, it will be a revelation and the bike everybody will be talking about.

The 690 duke r they managed to get down to 147kg dry, that being included the huge cat infested exhaust, and from the video posted just days ago of the 790 duke, it looks smaller then the 690 :lol2
So i have faith, maybe just maybe! Ktm will make the ├╝ber alles motorcycle with the new 790 twin.
Keeping in mind that the 690 already has 80hk on 147kg :happayand is already on my wishlist :p

The only way they can possible fuck up now, is if they somehow manage to add 50kg to the 790 adventure :p im exsited as fuck anyway :p the only thing stopping me from buying a 690 duke and turn it into a micro adventure bike is the hopes i got for the 790 series:kat

Could be typical KTM math: no fluids, no battery. If you take into consideration weight of battery, oil, gas, coolant (+50lbs), it is very realistic. Plus it is likely a prototype without emission equipment, and due to Euro4 2017 390 Duke gained ~22lbs.

Wet 390 Duke is ~368lbs, right? and 690 is about the same, so 380-390 lightweight twin is possible.

It will be interesting to see what they do for fuel tank/s. The parallel twin while slightly smaller displacement will obviously be wider as a result. Could make squeezing our Dakar style (what are they called?) twin tanks in there hard! Would love to see rally tanks and the bash protection/low center of gravity they provide!

    Fingers crossed!

All the spy shots appear to show 2 tank configuration. I went back and looked at them again and noticed the tank is much wider below where your knees hold the bike, hopefully that means holds more fuel down low for good CG. Also should make it feel narrower.

One could hope! That would be AWESOME! Plus about the time I have run this bike into the dirt, they should be getting reasonable on the used market!

    Don't let us down KTM!

One of the trick parts I like on the 790 Duke is the single piece cast aluminium subframe. Wonder if something like this will be in the adventure. Screen Shot 2017-10-20 at 11.18.58 am.png

I'm getting excited to see the final product!!

Gas tank looks very wide at the bottom, looks like giant rubber bumpers instead of crash bars 060ktm-790-adventure-rjpg.jpg 050ktm-790-adventure-rjpg.jpg

Looks like they took a page from Tenere book and added a layer of crashable plastics.. lighter than crash bars

That headlight is very reminiscent of a porch lamp. Not saying I wouldn't love it like an ugly baby but.... damn.

Yep, that would have to go. Lol.

Edit: I take that back, it has a ventilated adjustable windscreen built into it. That makes ugly a little more palatible...kinda.

While I agree it is cool, I would probably prefer steel for the inevitable off-road impacts. Maybe if they had it encased in plastic so it couldn't get a direct hit. I dunno...I would have mixed feelings about that.

What are the thoughts on the winglets at the front?
Hopefully they really deflect wind, it's an interesting design change from the larger KTM adv bikes.

I have seen the new Dakar Rally design by KISKA. I wouldn't say it's similar though.
