I picked up my 790r from GP Motorcycles in San Diego last week. They told me there was a pre-delivery notice to inspect and clean out tanks. They said 3 of the 4 790's that they received had residue in the tanks, including mine. They took the tank off, pulled the fuel pump, flushed with solvent, let dry overnight, and put it all back together. I have two other buddy's that each bought 790r's at a different San Diego dealer and that dealer inspected their tanks with a bore scope camera, deemed them clean of residue and gave them their bikes. None of these bikes have had any fuel pump issues so far.

    Combination switch left

It doesn't show it's available for order. Maybe different connectors is all??

My dealer said September! - how about we borrow a few from the unsold 1290's on the show floor???

$145 for that switch on the Super Duke R and Out of Stock

I was told October, but who's counting. It'll make a nice Christmas Stocking Stuffer.

While I was there we pulled the seat off of a 790 standard to see if it would fit, and it did!

But it was not any lower....or at least didn’t feel like it.. both were on the lowest setting. IMG_2051.jpg

Mark my bike down for the wrong windshield and wrong color hand guards as well. KTM shipped it with black instead of orange, and the S windshield.

I spotted a random phillips head screw holding down my windscreen. Dealer said that one screw was missing...It's SS so if they can't produce the right one before delivery then I'll pull that one, and pick up my own at the fastener place in town or use the 'ol black satin nail polish trick lol.

My dealer said this was one of the worst roll outs of a new model he’s seen. Broken and missing pieces etc.

Not trying to be a dick, but why wouldn’t you just order it from your local KTM dealer?

I checked out the 790s at a local dealer here a week ago Friday. They got 7 (4Rs and 3Ss). —and damned it if the dealer I’ve ordered from (after these guys wouldn’t take my deposit back in December) STILL hasn’t recieved my R.

    I’m losing it here!!

Anyway; the dealer with the x7 790s was going off of that document; they showed me, and I THINK they referred to it as a ‘tech bulletin’.
They say they cleaned them all, and 6 of the 7 had LOADS of debris.

..mentioned this to the dealer where my order is placed. They received 1 S, but not the x2 Rs orders - and they hadn’t heard of any bulletin!

I've updated the FAQ with the differences I can see on the R Rally vs the R, plus the stuff I pulled from the press release. If you find part numbers (for the white front fender, or the clear short screen for example) please let me know.

Anybody knows what the « cooling extension on the front calipers » are on the R Rally? I have no idea what these things are…
