Thanks. Yep, lots of gripping at times about the bike but overall it's a winner IMHO. No thread of my own for the upcoming ride. I may do a report for some of it. It will be more a plain long ass ride than an adventure unless things go sideways, at least until I hit NM or AZ. ;)

I'm headed out to ride Death Valley with the 790 west-coast contingent. I'll buzzing west on a fast southerly route but not quite as far south as Dallas unless weather pushes me that direction. Plan is a death march across I-40. Probably won't slow down until I hit NM or AZ. I appreciate the kind offer!

In all truth, I've had them on my last 2 woods bikes. A KTM 300 with a Rekluse and a trials tire will take you just about anywhere, no matter how shitty you are at riding dirt bikes! :)

I'm going to try and ride the incoming 890R without one, but I'm sure it too will be assimilated, resistance is futile.

Be prepared; it doesn’t work anywhere near as well in the 790 as it does in the smaller bikes.

Mine is still working. 13k miles on it, or around that.

Takes a light touch to hit neutral from 2nd and finding it from first is hard. Honestly I'm kind of used to this behavior when a KTM gets some miles on it. I still have a good OEM 790 stock clutch pack sitting on the shelf. I may slip it in just to see if there is a difference in feel at some point.
