    I've owned the same rack for many years. Although I've reinforced the hardware and slid the horizontal main beam in the tongue further... It's gone on many 1000 mile hauls with my various big twins without issue.

    I had a truck bump my rack at night and it straightened back out with a press.

    I especially love it for single handed dropping off my sportbike for a major service ( valve check, shock seal replacement).

    Roll on roll off, repeat.

    my experience matches mr. solo - any time required to tweak the fit is worth the effort. these are big girls who fall with some force ... even zero mph drops. the protection is worth a bit of time to get the fitment right.

    Using some digital bathroom scales, so I have no idea on the accuracy I weighed the heavy bitch for giggles. Had about 10 litres of fuel on board and usual pump and tools/spares.

    Any other weight savings than the crash bars and luggage racks?

    227.4k = 501lbs

    Mine with crash bars and luggage racks (no cases) is 520lbs = 235.9k

    It's shocking how much weight all the accessories add up to. My wife recently got a replacement for her totaled G650. Since insurance wasn't going to pay for the farkles on her old bike, I pulled everything off and boxed it up. It has to be at least 40 pounds of stuff. I'm starting to gain more appreciate for light weight in favor of protection that I never seem to use.

    Looks like he’s running a 2-1 exhaust...that’s at least 10 lbs.
