I changed to lithium in my 990R, killed the first one commuting daily. Next one works fine and doesn't care that I'm now retired and basically never ride except for the very occasional trip. Worked last year at below 30 and above 100 so I'm happy with it. Given I ride very simple roads. far too much tarmac and interstate, but that what keeps the paradise an island I guess? :imaposer
Don't notice the weight change as the bike gets loaded for travel, (I used to ride a BMW GS Adventure so, Starbucks and all. :lol3).

Takes me two days to change tires with a couple of rest days between wheels as an indicator of age and wear I suppose. Also working from the floor.

I need to come up with a tire changing timing device that warns me to change the bloody tires when it is coldest outside, instead of picking the random hottest day of record. :baldy
One time doing the BMW tires I was leaving pools of sweat in the garage, when it was about 109 outside. Here at the beach it was cooler by a good 20 degrees or more so at least the soaking of my clothing could keep up with the sweat. :knary

Exhaust to single side saves about 25 -30 lbs. alone. Stock exhaust is ridiculously heavy.

End of an era for me today, I have sold my 990 . Over the past twelve years I have put 50,000 miles on two 950's and a 990 Adventure, they have been great bikes and have taken me on some great rides.

Although I have orange blood I am not interested in any of the current offerings from KTM so I've ordered a Yamaha. Any 950/990 that passes me will still turn my head without doubt but it's time to move on.

I would have thought that some proper V twin DNA might have rubbed off onto them lol.

Nice bit of kit you have there!!! Any chance of some pics from the rear showing the Mosko setup? Are you running a frame/pannier racks?
    Thanks in advance.

Getting packed up for the KTM Rally/Ultimate Race next weekend! Should be a good time, and hope to see the old 9X0 bikes well-represented.

    Whoof...

I know that hill, that’s a good section for a 950. Not one very many people would try. Where’s the rally at?

Good luck man, i'm sure you'll do well.

Bummer its not further north, i'll be in Montana. No 950 though, ran out of time to prep it but last year i rode it exclusively (blew up the 530 on day one :lol3) so this year will be fun to play on the little bike.

That’s what I want to see, I love it up there. I’ll be at the pipestone trail area east of butte.

The 950 is in the back so I think this is ok to post here :lol3

i designed it and one of the members here printed/cut it. i’ll have to go through messages to find who. i can send you my artwork, just not on the cut line panels. you’ll have to source those.
