I changed to lithium in my 990R, killed the first one commuting daily. Next one works fine and doesn't care that I'm now retired and basically never ride except for the very occasional trip. Worked last year at below 30 and above 100 so I'm happy with it. Given I ride very simple roads. far too much tarmac and interstate, but that what keeps the paradise an island I guess? Don't notice the weight change as the bike gets loaded for travel, (I used to ride a BMW GS Adventure so, Starbucks and all. ). Takes me two days to change tires with a couple of rest days between wheels as an indicator of age and wear I suppose. Also working from the floor. I need to come up with a tire changing timing device that warns me to change the bloody tires when it is coldest outside, instead of picking the random hottest day of record. One time doing the BMW tires I was leaving pools of sweat in the garage, when it was about 109 outside. Here at the beach it was cooler by a good 20 degrees or more so at least the soaking of my clothing could keep up with the sweat.
