A source in Akron, Ohio says that he went by the Holeshot KTM dealership on 8/09/03 and they had both models sitting on the floor for sale. The owners were at the KTM dealer meeting returning this Wednesday, 8/13/03.

Quick, someone up there go confirm with a digital camera.

Still waiting for my S :splat Hopefully this is a sign that they are on the trucks headed to all the dealers.

Just stopped by my dealer, Cliff's Cycles in Norfolk, Mass. He just got in 4 - 3 standards (all silver) and one big orange S yesterday.

    :clap :clap

I sat on the standard and, despite the claim that the seat height is the same as my Duke, it was definitely taller. The seat is way wider than the Duke. While I can touch both feet comfortably on the Duke, I was tippy-toe on the Adventure. I didn't even attempt to sit on the S.

    Man, these things are beautiful!!!

I didn't have my camera with me, but I'll go back in the morning and snap some pictures for ya'll.

They don't even have the paperwork in yet and Frank, the mechanic, is still at the dealers' meeting. Word has it there's a 950 Duke there, but they aren't letting them ride it.

For all you guys waiting...just a few more days! Hang in there!!!

Walked into Bracken in the UK 4 weeks ago, ordered an S
and picked it up last Saturday. It was a cancelled order and
one of the last two S models to leave KTM.

Had an LC4 Adventurer which I took to the sahara but was
too slow and viby to commute 100miles/day to work, the
950 is like an LC4 but with a turbo. Sounds similar, feels
similar and I cant wait to get it on some serious off road.

Wonderful bike, love it (apart from the leaky oil tank problem).
If you've ridden an LC4 Adventurer you'll feel at home straight
    away.

Problem is I've done 400miles in a couple of days so have to wait
another week or so for its first service at 600 miles.

Best of luck Goss, hope you get yours soon.

My dealer: Proline Motorsports in duluth, GA got in 2 silver and 1 Orange S yesterday. Hopefully the shop owner is bringing home a S model demo bike from the dealer meeting. if so that one is mine, if not then the new S will be coming home with me. Surprisingly I was flatfooted on the silver one and on the balls of my feet on the S. My inseam is about 32". I felt I had just as much foot down as on my corbin equipped R1100RT. I expected higher!

Sorry if I misled you. I meant they have the 950 Duke at the dealers' meeting just for show, not for sale. I, too, understand that there won't be any 950 Dukes til next year. But the 950 Adventures are arriving at the dealer's shops this week.

Maybe my dealer will take pictures of the Duke. If he does, I'll try to get them from him. I'll keep you posted. :thumb

Wastegate, please elaborate on the oil tank leakage problem. I do not think I have seen that one mentioned on the German LC8 site.

Miles52 this is for you. Here is a photo website with some ride shots. The 950 Duke is here sitting next to the motocross track.

Jason, I guess riding that 1150RT has me in that gray area if you will. Nice bike but it certainly is not exciting. My hopes for more adventure will be fulfilled by the off road abilities of the big KTM. With that said I should have been on a GS probably instead of the RT.

Now where is my dealer at ?

You are a lucky man. I live about four miles from Proline and look at what I found there today! Your sweet new ride being tested. It sounds and looks great. I don't think I want that BMW adventure anymore. The KTM rocks and feels light for its size.

Just so you do not worry here it is with a lot of zero's, you have a lot of work (so does BMW).

I have to admit it is my first KTM I looked at but the feel and mechanics of the bike are awesome. They really made an incredible bike. I wonder if BMW will be able to counter this? Let us know how it rides. It just looks like fun, maybe I will skip the DRZ and go right for the 950, once I can figure out how to pay for it.

This is for Goss, as I have felt a kindred spirit, and at times his humor took away the pain of the WAIT. Goss at 9:30am Thurs. I'll be riding my S. Hope yours is there soon.
