KTM 950SE side mount aux fuel tank

I have for sale a 1.5 gal side mount fuel tank.




This tank will require a 2-1 exhaust, www.ht-racing.com is making one. I have also found some premade collectors that work great and are cheap. I will try to start a diy thread on this.

The price will be 235.00 + frt

If anyone is interested please let me know, it would help we know how big of a production run to make.

The tank is plastic and it mounts to the sub frame in two places, very solid mounting. I don't have any pic's of the mounts right now, I'll try to get some up soon.

does it work with luggage, specifically, the gobi bags? and does it fit the adventure or just the SE?

The tank only works with the SE. I'm working on one for the adventure and yes it will work with luggage.

Count me in. Is it paintable?

Plastic fuel tanks tend to sweat so I think the paint would not last long. Different types of plastic are better than others. I don't believe these tanks are made of plastic that would lend well to paint.A painter could probably answer this better than me.

You have me interested. Would this be the tank only or would it come with things like a gas cap, hose, petcock?

This would be a complete kit all mounts, hose, fittings, fuel cap and installation instructions for mounting the fuel tank.

There is a posibility that I could offer the HT racing 2-1 also as a complete kit. Let me know if that is of interest to anyone.

The tank is the Baja designs 00-03 RFS tank. The tank fits the SE well but not so well on the ADJ the sub frame and number plates are just enough different. I'm still working on a solution for the ADJ.

I do not have any pics of the mounts and they are all out getting powder coated. I will post when they come back.

Sorry to say this, but I think that they are mounted to far back. So they are to-high also. This will be diabolical with the handling. Consider this please....

Yes, you have a very good point.

I was trying to offer a fuel solution that was farly priced so I have used a tank that was already made for other applications. So I had to make some compromises to get the tank to fit.

Berg, so far so good with the test tank. Just waiting on the 2->1 header for my Leos. I'll post some pics in action when I get the exhaust back together.

Looks like you lost a bolt on your pillion pegs.

It is in a much better location than the top of my tail rack. Where almost all SE riders pack extra fuel..

I have been putting loads of miles on this tank and have quite a few out on other bikes and feed back has been good.

So they are officially for sale.
