    Hello lads and lassie,
It is the age old question of which bike again.
I am looking for a new adventure bike and found a 2012 blue 990 and 2014 orange 1190 near me, and oh boy they look equally gorgeous. My only last straw before choosing one, is the maintenance difficulty, things like oil change, filter change, valve check etc. The 1190 makes me feel like maintenance can be a but easier, but I could be wrong. Can any owner with experience or knowledge with both tells me which one is easier to take apart and to maintain and/or repair?
    Thanks for the wisdom!

My 950 is easier in every way compared to the 1190. The oil changes will slightly faster on the 1190.

990 if you want more off-road capability, 1190 if you’re primarily a street/ light off-road kind of guy.

For the same money I'd take the 1190R every time. They are nearly the same in the servicing department - although the 1190 is a lot easier to strip down.

If you have to ask, then I would say go after a 1190
